My dad and I were talking about this the other day and I was curious what the general consensus might be. Knowing about the bounty program now, do you think the defenses of the remaining NFL teams will let this pass or is Drew Brees and the rest of the Saints offensive players lives in danger this coming season?

Interesting thought.

I always expect more vengefulness than I see, though. When Logan Mankins attacked our guy (Gordon?) from the back last season, or when Stevie Johnson blew out Eric Berry's knee or when that bust 1st rounder of the Broncos body-slammed Jamaal Charles, I always expect to see those guys get nailed in the next few plays, but it never seems to happen. Either our Chiefs are too classy to do it, or the players are ordered not to do it.

If I was a coordinator, I'd have a few plays called, "Destroy the thug" in my playbook. But maybe I'm not as highly evolved as guys like Bill Muir and Chan Gailey and Al Saunders.

shit if players weren't for the bounty I'm sure Williams gave the zero playing time. I would imagine the rest of the players in the league understand that if a coach implements a bounty and encourages it the players have no other choice. I don't think Brees is in any kind of trouble from other defenses.

Probably every team tacitly endorses this kind of stuff, whether the coaches know about it or not.

Or does he become the most protected QB in the league...by the refs?

I'm thinking this.

Good grief, no, his life isn't in danger. Dramatic much?

His life might not be, but I'd think some of those Vikings might be a little upset that this could have caused them a trip to the SB.

Someone is gonna tee off on the guy and just take the fine.
