Carlson would be a upgrade over Pope imo. Carlson is much more of a weapon when it comes to catching the ball. Would be a good TE combo with Moeaki.

You have to love how Pioli is going after the very top of the FA market. ;)

Such an embarrassment.Actually, Gregg was the best NT on the market for what we were trying to do. Breaston was a good signing. And if Haley weren't such a fucking sociopath, we'd still have Gaither around, who could have been our RT at any point last season.

It really wasn't that bad of a haul. It absolutely dwarfs this new shit we're dealing with regarding franchise reputation, cheap assholes who don't care about winning championships, and not wanting to open up the checkbook for real players who can legitimately help the team just because they might be getting *gasp* overpaid. As if we didn't overpay for Brandon fucking Routt.

Source: John Carlson to visit the Chiefs
by Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, March 13, 2012 at 9:06 pm ET

John Carlson Profile

Seattle Seahawks free agent tight end John Carlson is scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs, a league source confirmed.

Meanwhile, Carlson, 27, has multiple other teams heavily interested in acquiring the services.

Per the source, Carlson is also drawing interest from several teams in need of a tight end. That includes the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings.

Carlson didn't play last season due to a torn labrum in his shoulder.

A potential return to the Seattle Seahawks remains a possibility.

For his career, Carlson has hauled in 137 career passes for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-5, 251-pound native of St. Cloud, Minn., caught 55 passes for 627 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie, 51 passes for 574 yards and seven touchdowns in his second NFL season and 31 passes for 318 yards and one touchdown in 2010.

A former Notre Dame standout, Carlson is prized for being an all-around tight end with strong character.
