It'll be worth more than Fitz's contract.

Yea nevermind -

Prior to last season, Fitzgerald signed an eight-year deal worth $120 million. Johnson, who made $8.875 million in 2011 and is slated to make $14 million next season. More importantly, Johnson's salary cap number is $21 million, which hurts Detroit's chances of signing players in free agency.

Johnson's contract details are unknown as of now, but he will likely become the richest receiver in NFL history. His deal will likely exceed Arizona receiver Larry Fitzgerald's deal.

Ticket prices just went up for fans in Detroit. Face value is now: "your paycheck".

If the Chiefs had just signed CJ to a 7 year/132 million dollar deal I would be weeping with joy.

So Bowe is going to play a year under the "tag" and then go looking for a huge payday. Great!

Edit: How much will that effect what we pay Bowe under the franchise tag?

For one of the most dominant offensive players in football. I'd say he's worth it.

Definitely. I'd be JIMP if we signed Calvin Johnson. Dude is an athletic freak who is the best at the position.
