Ever think it's a contract for Hillis to prove himself and get paid big time in a year? Or he flames out and the Chiefs don't have to worry about paying a RB that is not producing for multiple seasons.

It's a win-win for both sides, IMO.

All of the top 5 highest yards per carry seasons have been from 2007-present.

Just some food for thought.

And?

The game has loosened up considerably due to the rules and the dominance of the passing game.

Yards per carry still don't win championships, yards per attempt do.

Matt Cassel, in terms of yards per attempt, is the 2nd worst starting QB in the league over the last 3 years.

I actually like this sentiment. Cassel will be the front man again this year but I believe Stanzi will be on his heels for that starting job. The kid did well at Iowa and didn't get much of a chance to get up to speed thanks to the lockout last year. With a solid running game and hopefully solid line, with a great defense, now is the time to switchup our QB position IF he happens to be ready and shows he can compete for the job.

I really like this move. The only thing that makes me not a little iffy is that I like Tolbert so much. I think Tolbert is kinda a sure-thing as far as what you can predict. Hillis is a little bit of a wild card. I do believe his head will be on straight.

I will say this, I think Hillis has more upside than Tolbert. Hillis has had some sick games when he is going right. Also probably won't mind playing Denver, although you could say that about Tolbert and SD.

Bush or Tolbert would have been better, but Pioli had to sign somebody since no one wants to come here.

Bush and Tolbert can't do this...

A one-year prove-it deal is the perfect signing for Hillis.

Prove you can play so that the Cowboys can sign you next offseason.

OF COURSE Hillis signed with the Chiefs, it was a no-brainer. Hillis was reportedly torn between continuing to play pro football or joining the CIA. Once he found out Pioli's obsession with bugging Arrowhead and tapping phones, he probably figured joining the Chiefs was about as close as he could come to doing both at the same time.

That's why they are still bringing Tolbert in, when he isn't working the inside of a defensive line, they want Hillis to work inside bugging different rooms and phone lines.

With some exceptions, I see a lot of good blocking in that montage

Maybe Daboll can improve the fundamentals around here a little?

The guy is probably all cleared up, mentally. Anyone on that kind of horrific team could suffer from brain damage.

He'll just have minor head issues here :)

Thomas Jones is supposed to be the consummate pro, and he hauled off and broke a rookie WR's hand. I'm not worried about Hillis. Actually, the Browns did a lot to make the situation look worse than it was if you ask me.

Like how he got pulled from the Miami(?) game in the first half. I believe the Browns said at halftime he had a hamstring issue, then late in the game, he game in twice to pass block. Of course, after the game, Mangini changed his story as to why Hillis was out, and was wishy washy about why he was really out, making it look like Peyton just said "fuck this".

To me though, why on earth would a RB FAKE an injury to get out of a game and quit on the team, then go ahead and come in later and do grunt work by pass blocking? If anything, he'd do the opposite and run and not come in to block. I think the coaches held him out, then told him to get in there an pass block and threw him under the bus later.

Good signing, but what are we going to do about the fact that no starter over the last 3 years with 1,000 attempts is as bad a QB as Cassel? He is absolute rock-bottom the worst full-time starter in the league over the last 3 years.
