Doesn't hurt any, and will probably come cheap.

Chiefs sign Kevin Boss to three-year, $9 million deal

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Thursday that they have signed tight end Kevin Boss, formerly of the Oakland Raiders.

Boss, 28, will play across the formation from Tony Moeaki in two-tight end sets. The Chiefs are gearing up to run a ground-heavy offense, and Boss is a difference-making blocker. Moeaki also blocks well.

Adam Caplan reports that the deal is worth $9 million over three seasons.

Kansas City hasn’t made any huge splashes in free agency, but it has retained top wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and shored up its rushing attack. The Chiefs could still get into the mix for a free agent nose tackle like Aubrayo Franklin as the market plays out.

Complete speculation. It doesn't say anywhere that the Chiefs are "after" him.

He signed for pennies last year after speculated interest amounted to nothing. Don't see why they'd bother now after he did very little on his 1-year deal and the 9ers flourished without him.

Not that I'd be against it.

Why do you doubt that? He is clearly making a blind speculation. He doesn't even go so far as to cite "sources" or "reports". Bad thread.

And those reports don't warrant threads, much less threads touting them as true. It's a shitty thread, dude. This report would barely qualify for the FA thread let alone it's own.

People are getting so edgy over non signings that it has resorted to a citizens patrol combing through threads to verify that they meet their criteria of front page worthy.

Update...

Aubrayo Franklin headed to KC for interview tomorrow. :O)

Think the Cheifs can get him cheaper than his price last season a nice bridge player for the D.

~Chief Concerns

lol. So this is why Pioli wanted to wait until this year to target him, knew his value would be about cut in half. What a genius.

BTW it drives me crazy when people can't spell "Chiefs" correctly. The I goes before the E motherfuckers.

Who is this report from?

Romeo said last year that certain players didn't fit their scheme due to the style of defense they were in before. How was Franklin not a fit last year but a fit this year?

He probably found out that Weigmann retired and thinks its safe to come to KC now.

To those asking, the #Chiefs showed zero interest in Aubrayo Franklin last year. Don't know why that would change this year

I asked him if he thought it was a bad scheme fit or bad financial fit, Teicher seems to think the Chiefs just don't think much of him as a player.
