View Full Version : Chiefs Should we trade Matt Cassel to Denver for Peyton Manning?

Seems like a good option at this point. Manning is old and his health is questionable; I bet Bowlen and Elway want to unload him and get what they can before he breaks down. Thoughts?

Elway would be excited to get a QB of Cassel's caliber

That trade would hurt us though because Cassel is our QBOTf

Any notion of trading Matt Cassel is ridiculous. He's Scott Pioli's guy. We know this right?

Should have made this a poll.

Exactly. The OP should have made it like this:

Question: Am I a dumbass?

Option 1: Yes
Option 2: Yes

Why would the OP start a poll asking if Dartgod is a dumbass?

I want this to be an engaging, spirited discussion rather than a mere collection of unexplained opinions.

What are your thoughts on trading Cassel for Manning? I think it would be mutually beneficial. Broncos get rid of their aging star before he flames out, Chiefs get rid of dead weight. Hopefully Pioli can make the move.

It's a good idea but it is basically an impossibility.

I don't know, I think we have enough cap room and picks to spare. I mean, who are we gonna take at #11 anyway?

I agree with the assessment, but I think its more about Pioli. In regards to the first round pick, I am becoming more fond of trading down. I do not want to see them reach for a Tannehil just because he is a "first round qb" so many people want.

I think if Pioli can't make the Cassel-for-Manning deal work, trading down might be the best choice. In fact, maybe if we net a bunch of picks by trading down, we'd have more to offer in a package for Manning???

Seems like an unbalanced trade. We would lose out. Manning is done, Cassel is the future model for all up and coming QBs. Seems like a no-brainer that we just stick with him for eternity.

No way I let go of a proven starter and probowler in Matt Cassel for an injured brokedick QB like Manning without a lot extra, like at least a 2nd or 3rd rounder and some passes to the sky car at Estes Park. We can't be stupid about this, FFS.

Why would Pioli let Elway rape him like this?

Oh yeah, the Estes Park sky car is pretty cool. Hopefully Pioli can put his negotiation skills to work.

Shit, I'd trade Cassel for a carton cigarettes, a blow pop, and a cardboard cutout of Phyllis Diller. Now that would be sweet.
