Is he worth keeping as a backup OT? Can he be a back up at Gaurd? What's his contract status? Can he be traded for a low round pick? Just cut him and say good riddance? Can he play NT? (j/k)

We need depth he can add for that. Camp fodder. IMO if we had a real QB he would have looked a hell of a lot better.

I think if that were the case he'd be drawing a little more interest right now. He's depth alright, just not depth I want on the chiefs. Sign him up to protect Manning!!!

We had no one to back up B Rich or the rest of the line last year. We need depth I tell ya.

B Rich can be a good run blocker, he really sucks with Cassel holding the ball too long so I think he gets a bad wrap with that.

I think he played better than the fans think he did. Cassel and Palko made him look bad too. I think he'd be a good backup and should be kept.

Run blocking is fine, but he's a complete liability in pass protection even against an average pass rusher.

Just so long as he's cheap, I'm not sure he can handle being relegated to a back up though. Maybe since Haley is gone, but didn't he have some serious issues with being benched?

Then why is nobody knocking on his door with a contract ?

Because he sucks.

We need to draft our depth for that position.

He was our right tackle when we were at the top of the league in rushing. He is not totally without skills and would make a fine backup, if he would accept that role.

The only position that performed WORSE than Barry Richardson was our TE's. They had a whopping combined 17 penalties and considering Jake O'Connell had around 6 or 7 by himself with so few snaps, it was horrible! Signing Kevin Boss is a HUGE upgrade and if Moeaki can find a way to stay healthy, we should improve 10x in that position.

I know it's off topic but I didn't feel like starting another thread....

There isn't a FA on our list that I really want to keep except Carr but that's water under the bridge.

Has anyone suggested trading BR to the Donks for a 2nd rdc? He can anchor Denver's right side for the next decade.

For the two or three years of Peyton Manning suits me just fine. The last couple of years of his contract he's either gone or a toothless geezer.

I was looking through the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for something on the St. Louis Rams and something stuck out in one of the stories -- Barry Richardson was among those visiting the Rams on Thursday. Richardson, of course, is the former right tackle for the KC Chiefs.

He was among five players that visited St. Louis on Thursday but the Rams opted to sign offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka, not Richardson.

According to Pro Football Focus, Richardson graded out as one of the worst offensive tackles last season. He took a big step backwards from 2010, which is concerning for a young player like him. The Chiefs have since signed OT Eric Winston so the right tackle spot is all filled up. It's gotta be the biggest position upgrade of the year for the Chiefs.

Richardson is currently a free agent and has not re-signed with the team. That he's making visits suggests he may not return to KC.

I've wondered if the Chiefs would bring Richardson back but just as a reserve swing tackle, and not as the starter on the right side. Maybe not. This is the first bit of free agent news we've seen on Richardson since the market opened.
