Wow. One the greatest Bluegrass musicians to have ever lived is gone.

Goodbye Earl.

Flatt and Scruggs are together again in the great Bluegrass band in the sky.

This is stated to be a recording of his 1948 (possibly 1949) performance of Foggy Mountain Breakdown that I attached. This is some seriously masterful shit.

I can name three banjo players--Earl Scruggs, Steve Martin, and the weird kid from Deliverance.

I once stayed in the "Flatt and Scruggs Suite" at a hotel in rural West Virginia. It was kind of interesting - a big old turn of the century hotel in a town that had lost most of its population, so I think I was one of about three guests staying there.

I like banjo music, and remember Scruggs for doing the Beverly Hillbillies theme. Everyone likes the Beverly Hillbillies theme.

My friend went to the Bela Fleck Concert here in Springfield last night. Bela and the Flecktones played a tribute to Suggs after announcing his passing to the audience. My friend said that each of the Flecktones' solos involved the Beverley Hillbillies Theme somehow.

RIP Mr Suggs...

His albums are really good. Steve Martin, not Rascall Flatts.

Nobody had him in the death pool... Maybe celebs will start croaking again. It's been a drought lately.
