The Kansas City Chiefs are leaving no stone unturned in their search for possible help and competition at the quarterback position. While they've checked in on the top prospects available to them from Ryan Tannehill and Brock Osweiler on down, they are also checking out smaller school prospects like Dane Simoneau from Washburn. Even after Simoneau recently worked out with Kansas State players at the K-State Pro Day, the Chiefs came back for more.

Rob Burkett writes, "Simoneau spent time in front of NFL scouts March 13 at Kansas State University's pro day... The quarterback then returned to Washburn on March 27, where he and other players went through various drills showing off what they were capable of in front of the Kansas City Chiefs. Simoneau took the process in stride."

I was relaxed in front of them, said Simoneau. I thought it went really well.

Simoneau is listed at 6-3, 227 lbs. and is a native of Salina, Kansas. He's started 42 games in his career, so experience is not an issue and he ranks 15th all-time in Division II passing touchdowns and 12th all-time in passing yards.

Kid might be good. Those are some pretty ballsy throws that show off his ability to throw receivers open. I can't tell from the footage if he's got the arm strength to put zip on the ball. Some of the throws seemed to sail a bit high on him.

I really hope we draft him and he becomes our multiple Super Bowl-winning franchise QB so that Dane McCloud would come back and feel loved whenever people talk about how awesome Dane is.

Seems like you wouldn't even have to draft this guy. How many teams could be legitimately interested?

I agree he isn't going to be drafted, but you would think the Chiefs have a huge advantage in signing Simoneau as a UDFA. First off you have to assume he is a Chiefs fan growing up in Salina. Chiefs showing that much interest, it is pretty apparent they are serious about giving him a look possibly in camp?

Mark's younger brother? Cousin? No relation?

Wow they are seriously trying to throw a smokescreen up about who they really want to get, if they actually do. Actually not a bad move. Bet it's Cousins.
