Deonte shouldn't even get a UDFA contract.

Haha I know. I had to represent the Gators in this draft somehow. At this rate, none will be drafted. Although Jenkins is and always will be a Gator, so he represented there.

I kind of like the pick. But I think Griffin is eventually going to miss games if he tries to run too much in the NFL. I think injuries are my biggest fear with him. He's not built like Cam or Tebow.

But that said... if Cousins plays better in preseason you've created a QB controversy with your number 2 pick.

People overstating his running. Since he came back from the knee, he's been a passing QB. He's a threat running with his speed, but he doesn't really run much. To be honest, I don't think he likes getting hit after watching him a lot this season.

DaKCMan AP
04-28-2012, 10:38 AM
OVERVIEW

Wylie is an undersized receiver from Fresno State who was actually never a full-time starter during his time there. He has battled injuries throughout his career, and this has greatly hampered his productivity but also has made him a hidden gem of a prospect who has fourth-round value based off his ability to contribute as a starter immediately in the return game. He is a burner whose 40-yard dash time will greatly help and support his grade despite limited playing time at a Western Athletic Conference school.

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS
Wylie is highly effective as a returner, as he is very decisive and has the speed to make one cut and get upfield to take it the distance. As a receiver, he is very quick off the ball and gets into his route immediately. He understands how to use his quick feet to get off the line without cornerbacks pushing him off his route. He is a good route runner who can get open thanks to his acceleration and ability to break on a dime. He is a consummate deep threat and could be effective running quick screens and getting yards after the catch at the next level.

WEAKNESSES
Wylie is an undersized receiver who has been limited by injuries throughout his career. Teams will be turned off by his durability and inability to consistently see the field at Fresno State.

A shorter compact wide out who looks a little thicker than his 185-pound frame would indicate. Missed most of the 2010 season with a foot injury, but returned in 2011 for his most productive year at Fresno State.

Exhibits good short area quickness and initial burst off the line. Plays both inside and out, and possesses a good feel setting up his routes underneath. Keep his feet under him, can drop his pad level and quickly accelerate out of his breaks. Showcases a good use of shoulder/head fakes to set up defenders and plays very fast in tight areas. Is also a pretty good route runner on the outside. Stems his routes well at full speed, drops his pad level and initially can get out of his breaks. Knows how to separate on the quick out and adjust to the football.

Is a natural catcher of the football who has some savvy to his game working his way open and adjusting to the catch. Is a tough kid who is willing to work the middle of the field and will get up and attack the football. Lets the ball get into his body too often underneath, but secures the ball quickly and showcases the initial suddenness to slip a defender and accelerate. Gets up to speed quickly and showcases good straight-line speed. Isn't as shifty when trying to avoid the bump off the line, as he has a tendency to really run around corners on the outside. But exhibits very good straight-line speed with the ability to get behind and track the football vertically.

Is a big threat on special teams as well. Is a gifted return man who accelerates quickly, has a good feel and has the quick's to make defenders miss. Plus he's a tough gunner, who will get down the field and tackle. Isn't the kind of size/speed guy you want at the position at the next level, but it says a lot about his toughness.

Impression: Is limited a bit by his size, but is the kind of cat-quick slot guy with great ball skills who can make a living in the NFL. The major positive with him is that he also has very good speed as well.

But if you change the bold font a little--look what you get!

wylie as a kick returner

led the WAC and ranked fifth nationally by averaging 15.38 yards per punt return... returned two punts for a touchdown - the first was a 67 yarder at No. 10 Nebraska and the second was a 79-yard TD vs. No. 5 Boise State... his punt return for a touchdown at Nebraska was the first allowed by the Huskers in 10 years... had six-straight games from Sept. 10-Oct. 15 where he returned a punt for 30 yards or longer

I said in that thread I don't like Pitt's 2nd & 3rd picks.

I think Mike Adams is stiff, struggles with speed rushers, and isn't exceptionally strong to be a road-grating RT.

Sean Spence is ok, but he's not very fast and he's not a thumper. He wouldn't unseat DJ and doesn't make sense in Belcher's position.
