There must really have been teams trying to move up for Richardson.

I'm hearing we have our first trade; Cleveland moving up from #4 to #3 w Minnesota. Giving up 3 picks to move into 3rd.

Wouldn't it be awesome if they were trading #22, so they'd have the third and fourth?

It's clear to me that the Browns just don't understand what the draft is all about.

Browns trade a 4th, 5th and 7th round pick to move up one spot to 3rd. Trent Richardson would seem to be the pick.

If they're using it on Richardson they only did this so nobody else could jump them and take him because there's no way the Vikings would.

Hang on. Not positive it's Richardson. One team in top 10 just told me, "It might be Blackmon.'' So hang on.

IMO, the only 2 people worth trading up to 3 for (not based on their value alone, but based on their value at their position) would be Richardson or Kuechly.

According to NFL Network the 4th rounder is the one from the Julio Jones trade... so I guess we assume they still have their own 4th rounder.

the browns have 2 firsts, 2 fourths, 2 fifths, 2 sixths, and 3 sevenths...

if i had those picks, i trade for richardson

Someone on Sirius said that trade was 400 points under according to the value chart.

BossChief
04-26-2012, 06:23 PM
That's not all that bad.

The 4th is Atlantas, so it's a late 4th.

I'd make that deal if I'm them... if I don't like Tannehill (unless it's a trade for him)

the Talking Can
04-26-2012, 06:25 PM
they have 13 picks, you can't bring that many bodies to camp without cutting half...

tk13
04-26-2012, 06:25 PM
Yeah, looking at it... I don't know how it worked out value-wise but the Browns have picks to play with... it doesn't look as bad from their perspective.

They still have 2 first rounders... and still have their high 4th round pick, and a 5th round pick, and two 7th round picks. They still have a pick in every round.

the Talking Can
04-26-2012, 06:27 PM

In 2004, the Browns traded a 2nd to move from 7 to 6 to get Kellen Winslow II. Must be a Browns thing.

I agree. I like a team that knows who they want and goes after him. Didn't mortgage future picks -- this isn't a Julio Jones type trade.

If they really want a player.. go get em.

I don't hate this trade.

SNR
04-26-2012, 06:31 PM
That was cheap.

At first I thought it was dumb, but that's very cheap considering the number of picks they have.

Browns gotta get SOMEONE to score TDs. They can draft Coby Fleener at 22, and maybe even Reuben Randle in the 2nd round.

That all of a sudden is the foundation of a great offense. Not a bad compensation for missing out on the QB prize.

The kid is special and they ensured their rights to draft him with house money.

I am almost willing to bet they go Weeden at 22 now.

Makes sense if a team loves Claiborne, MN can say we will take him unless you make the deal. Credible because corner is a big need for Vikings

They burned shitty picks (not 3 1st rounders).
IMO, it was a good deal for both teams.
Cleveland could also flip it to get more picks if someone is ghey enough for Tannehill (like Pooholey).
