Lot of decent Olinemen at much better value. A number of guys I'd be happy with.

I would also like to see us take a rb around the 3rd round.

I've been banging the Osemele drum in the 2nd for some time now.

But if Cordy Glenn is there when we pick, a surprise in my mind, he'd be a great selection.

He can start at LG and play either tackle spot if Winston or Albert are lost to injury.

glenn or jenkins

both are 1st round-ish quality

edit*

glenn obviously is the safer player...and proof you don't need to spend the #11 pick on a guard

OT Schwartz from Cal, S Taylor from LSU, WR Jones from Cal and DL Reyes from CT. Wouldn't be unhappy with any of these. Still numb from the Poe pick but will give the guy a chance. We have no choice.

Can still make my draft if they get Brock Osweiler with this next pick. This is it.

If they want him, got to do it this round.

Same.

Welcome to Matt Cassel 2.0. Granted more of a winner, but physically? Smaller with about the same arm.

But if they pass him over? Wow. I might melt down.

If we could get a 6th out of Casshole and draft Osweiler I'd be ecstatic.

Let the three QB's fight it out in the preseason and roll with 3 young QB's...

Upshaw
Glenn
Jenkins
Fleener

Best available, IMO.

We don't need a center. We drafted Hudson last year and he will be our starter this year. You don't draft a backup C in the 2nd round.

Jason La Canfora ‏ @JasonLaCanfora
CB Janoris Jenkins is very hot right now. Several teams looking to trade up for him, which could lead to team like BAL dropping down again

I do not understand the love for Osweiler. I just don't think he will be good in the NFL. I also thought Cousins was reported as having one of the strongest arms in this draft, but his accurracy was suspect. I would like to see us get some sort of pass rush in the second and then look at O-line, Safety, or QB in the third.

In Pioli's interview with Looney he says:
"We've still got positions we want competition and depth and want to get younger... we are going to surprise you with some of these players"

I'll put it out there, character concerns and all, i would LOVE Janoris Jenkins in the second. Maybe a WR?

There aren't very many picks that could salvage Round 1's fuck up.

I'd have to say Jenkins, Fleener and Upshaw would go a long ways in helping to heal the wounds.

suds79
04-27-2012, 09:43 AM
really, you like the guy that much?

I'm just so sick of Matt Cassel.

I don't think we'll be in position to get an elite guy next year. I've watched several years of Trent Green who was good but I'd say had an average skill set. I'm now watching Matt Cassel who has the sorriest set of skills of any starting Chiefs QB I think I've ever seen.

I'm willing to gamble on a guy who has those tools but just needs time to sit. Well that's perfect for us because no rookie is going to beat out Matt in the Coaches eyes this year anyways.

I'd like to see Denver actually use their 2 picks... DT/CB/LB ... Worthy and Janoris? Likely not happening, but I'd like it. Still annoyed they passed on Hightower, but we'll see.

If they take Brock O - I'll be a bit pissed off.

Where's Russell Wilson?

(It's my obligation to keep that alive.)

Upshaw, J. Martin, C. Glenn, maybe even D. Still or Mohamed Sanu. Lots of talent still on the board.

Osweiler will not be 2nd round pick for the Chiefs for anybody else. 3rd rounder at best.

2nd:
a. Cordy Glenn G. Perfect pick for us, but doubt if he gets to 2.11.
b. Mychall Kendricks MLB. A little short (5' 11"), but long on talent.
3rd: Vinny Curry DE (if we get Gleen in the 2nd)
No G in the 2nd, Brooks or Silatolu

No thanks to Jenkins. Lots of talent, sure. But he's a fucking headcase, and he's an asshole who doesn't want to compete. He played lazily last season at North Alabama. And you know I'm the D2 guy on this board, so I'm not just saying that to say it.

I'll be happy with any of these:

Courtney Upshaw | 6'2 1/2, 273 pounds | Outside linebacker/end | Alabama
Devon Still | 6'5, 312 pounds | Defensive tackle | Penn State
Jonathan Martin | 6'6, 305 pounds | Offensive tackle | Stanford
Peter Konz | 6'5, 313 pounds | Center | Wisconsin
Cordy Glenn | 6'5 1/2, 346 pounds | Tackle/guard | Georgia
Janoris Jenkins | 5'10, 183 pounds | Cornerback | North Alabama
Coby Fleener | 6'5 3/4, 247 pounds | Tight end | Stanford
Alshon Jeffery | 6'4, 232 pounds | Wide receiver | South Carolina
Mike Adams | 6'7, 323 pounds | Offensive tackle | Ohio State
Josh Chapman | 6'1, 310 pounds | Defensive tackle | Alabama
Rueben Randle | 6'4, 208 pounds | Wide receiver | LSU
Alameda Ta'amu | 6'3, 330 pounds | Defensive tackle | Washington
Jared Crick | 6'4, 285 pounds | Defensive end/tackle | Nebraska
Ben Jones | 6'2, 304 pounds | Center | Georgia

I can see where you're coming from, but I think it is too much talent to pass up. He was basically on an island at all times at Florida. Going up against some top notch WR's. (Green, Jones, Jeffery) and looked good against them. He is excellent in man coverage which is I think where we are shifting on defense. Plus Routt is basically on a 1 year contract.

Pioli needs to ace the rest of the draft to make up for the blind passion in the first round. Start with Konz or Glenn and I will try to pretend that we did not take Poe, but merely lost our first round pick on a technicality.

saphojunkie

Upshaw
Glenn
Konz
Osweiler

That is my order of preference. Upshaw, while almost a luxury pick, is the Brian Orakpo of this year. You cannot have enough physical beasts in your defensive front seven. He could conceivably work inside as well in some packages. Having DJ, Tamba, Upshaw, and Houston in on passing downs sounds like an absolute nightmare for picking up the blitz.

Please god don't let Baltimore get ANOTHER sick value on defense.
