Anyone else hate the way they are doing this?

I liked the old Saturday and Sunday drafts. I could live with a Friday night round 1, but this format sucks.

I hate that I can't spend my Saturday enjoying the meat and potatoes portion of the draft.

I agree, I hated it last year too. I miss the Draft Marathon.

I loved the old format. Saturday felt like Christmas Day II. I laid out a spread and just sat around all day eating, drinking and watching the draft.

The draft had a momentum to it, too.

We need to start a petition.

It has pretty much destroyed the concept of a draft party.

It is awful. It has drastically lowered my interest in watching.

what made the draft fun in the past for me was knowing your team had a chance in the upcoming season of going all the way or at least to the playoffs.

with Manning in the division and a sorry ass starting QB its just not much fun anymore.

I agree that the old format was much better.

I used to love the all-day grill outs and marathons.

But I have to say... by the second round, people started to get a little restless. And drunk. You sit through a lot of the first round and now the first 5 picks are pretty much set in stone.

I will say that I really enjoyed watching the 2nd/3rd round yesterday. Because teams had a chance to adjust their boards, teams started flying through their picks. The worst is when you hit the third round and you're still waiting 5 minutes for a team to make their pick.

So I don't know... I kind of like it. I've gotten drunk 2 days straight and should make it a third.

I like Round one on its own day, but miss the old Saturday.

Would rather have round 1 on Thursday, and the rest of the draft on Saturday. I like to go out on Friday night.

I hated the format from the moment it was announced it would be changed to this format.

Don't like it either, but the NFL caters to casual fans who will watch the first round and nothing else. Just the way it is.

Yep. And the ratings confirm that this is the way it's going to be moving forward. This year's draft was the biggest TV draw ever:

I didn't like it at first but it is starting to grow on me. I like that it is broken up and doesn't require as much time commitment plus I still have some weekend left when it's done. However, I never had a draft party, so I can understand how that would suck.

New format is terrible. You can have a draft party on Thursday night, but it's not the same as having one on Saturday where you can enjoy the whole day talking about multiple picks and overall strategy. I guess the ad revenue from spreading it out over three days is more than just two. We're probably stuck with it though.

It's all for network ratings and it sucks.

..and it's never going back to the old way.

They make a fortune with advertisers on Thursday night. 50 million watched it.
