OVERVIEW
Hemingway is a big and explosive receiver who started regularly for three years, catching balls from Denard Robinson at Michigan. Hemingway is a big-framed guy who will do everything in his control to go up and make a play on the ball. He is thick and an effective run blocker, reliable in all facets of his game.
ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Hemingway is a talented receiver who might have been hindered throughout his career by playing with an atypical quarterback in Robinson. Playing with him, Hemingway has developed a good field awareness and will be as ready as any rookie to make plays that happen during broken-down plays. He knows how to exploit defenses and find open holes in the zone, which he did a lot at Michigan. He is reliable when catching the ball in a crowd and is also a deep threat.
WEAKNESSES Hemingway is a slow mover off the line and can get jammed up at times. He is a decent route runner but hasn't run many pro-style routes while working in Michigan's offense. He is not a very quick-twitched player and lacks speed variance and explosion in his routes.

Heh, at least he should fit in right away, with the hump we have at QB.

He can go up and get the ball.... something Cassel needs when he's launching it at the goalpost. go-go gadget boots.

Averaged 20 yards per reception last year. Another deep threat

Mayock just said this guy would be better converted to a TE or H back.

lol.

Sadly, this is very true. Hemingway has made a career out of making his QB look better. KEG and I were just talking about how much better he could be in the NFL than he was in college.

He's pretty big for a receiver and blocks well. I wonder if they will put him in passing formations to allow us to run with the defense expecting pass.

Averaged 20 yards per reception last year. Another deep threatNo, that's a little misleading, he's more of a possession guy. Or that's what he will be. He doesn't have elite speed.

he's a slant receiver .. should work out well if he has good hands .....

I think this guy might end up as the receiving split out TE.

He's a wide receiver. Damn good one, too. Met him in Europe after the war. Said he knew how to really feel like a man. I didn't believe him. Then we got drunk on absinthe.

I think we drafted a Jerricho Cotchery (whom we pursued) like receiver.

He is a Hines Ward type potentially from what I read.

I'm happy with this pick. 7th round guy will make the team and has the potential to make some vital plays... Best talent left which is what the 7th has to be about.

Damn good pick. Might make me forget about the Kaiser blowing my nads off in the war. Of course the absinthe takes care of that already.

Observations from #Chiefs practice: Jamaal Charles looks fine, Junior Hemingway worked with starters, Mike Devito out with apparent injury.

Intredasting...

So he has a chance now. Plenty of men get plenty of chances. Few do anything with them. I blew all mine. Might as well get drunk again.

does not surprise me. apparently he catches everything he can get his hands on - the opposite of Bustwin.

Since we are going to be a possession offense... you gotta have guys that catch the damn ball.

But is he really a junior Hemingway?

I wouldn't be surprised.

This and he is a great blocker which fits with Reid's offense. He's pretty much the perfect receiver to have when you are dumping off to a RB or TE.

Damn. A look in the mirror. This is why men like me climb Kilimanjaro. Not for the thrill of it. To get a better view than this one.
