Gamespot just did this great 20 minute video on MK that includes the original cast/actors as well as interviews with the creators.
This game (arcade) was my first taste of rebellion. I can remember setting aside lunch money throughout the week to play this cabinet at Fun Time Skateland.. I was 8 or 9.

I remember owning MK Trilogy on the n64.
You best recognize I bought the ginormous fatality, animality, etc cheat book.
Spent hours doing each and everyone's finishing moves.

I used to work at Software Etc back in high school, and I remember it was a huge deal when MKII came out on the consoles (Super Nintendo and Genesis). After it was all over, I got to take home the 6 foot tall cardboard display. It was pretty badass.

My dad and I played MKII for hours. Pretty impressive that he could do the finishing move for Lu Kang, but I guess he was only 38 or so at the time, so he wasn't completely old at the time.

I never played this game. Did it have any gratuitous nudity in it?

I used to go to the bank at 8am on a Saturday to take out $10 in quarters. Then I'd head to the arcade and spend basically the entire day playing that game. There would always be 10-15 people there watching, so there'd always be tournaments going on and that kind of thing. It was way more fun than it really should have been in retrospect.

It is very good. You won't find another fighting game with a cooler story mode or unlockables area. This game was very well-received.

I hadn't played any Mortal Kombats since MKIII, then I finally played the new one. It was amazing.
