Someone did this, and it is badass.

How to Disappear Completely is at 14:18, and it sounds amazing. The majority of the rest is awesome as well.

Enjoy!

I almost posted this yesterday but I listened to it first and decided not to.. There are a ton of 8-bit full albums on youtube.
Nobody does 8-bit like Beck - his Gameboy/Homeboy EP is good.

I've been wanting to check out some 8-bit music. As a kid, I always loved the music from NES games like Shadowgate, Rygar, Goonies 2, and Bionic Commando, but never really gave 8-bit music any more thought. Then I started listening to The Nerdist, and the intro theme is fantastic.

I'll have to check out that Beck album. Any other recommendations?

Anything by "Bit Shifter" -- he'll toss in some 16-bit but he's pretty popular in this genre. There are other nanoloop (software used to create these tunes) artists out there but this guy is good.

There's a guy who used to live here that did that stuff. He was pretty interesting to watch perform live.

If you're in to that kind of music: http://www.myspace.com/kashioboy/music

There is a band called "The Advantage" that covers NES music and they are awesome.

You can download their album or watch live vids via youtube.
