JFC people. Red vs Blue isn't Good vs Evil or vice-versa.

Both parties are equally full of shit, equally $$$ driven and neither are truely for the people.

The more attention i pay to politics/politicians the more i realize they're all the same.

You guys spend so much time demonizing each other and you're all the same.

Are there any images of the most prominent Republicans doing photo-ops in front of gasoline signs of late? Just wondering.

Yeah, I know...good cop, bad cop. True to a large degree...it's like a pick your poison on a constant loop...hard to argue with that, but some guys can f*ck stuff up worse than others.

Aren't generalizations fun?

Heh. Well played.

I haven't seen Repubs feigning outrage over gas prices like the Dems did. But they sure do love to bitch about deficits and spending while they were spending like drunken sailors on their watch.

I'm a conservative who is stuck being a Republican. I'm of the camp that says Dems are worse than Reps simply because there is a slight chance I might agree with or even support some Republican candidates. There's a slight chance they might be conservative. That is not the case with Dems, so...I guess I'm a Republican.

But there sure are a lot of assholes on both sides.

Fucking tell me about it. Itís not like my Jeep will accept the cheap shit either, try to feed it 87 octane dog water or some ethanol mix and itíll get all indignant. It sips only the finest premium, luckily its actually fairly fuel efficient for what it is and it's not my daily driver.

There you have it. The only difference is the Dems did it first but if you think the Repubs won't do the same damn thing you're just not realistic.

My wife drives a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. She loves it, but that sumbitch only gets like 15 mpg. it's horrible. I only put regular gas in it, and that helps with mileage. Ethanol is shit.

Funny, thatís about what my Jeep gets and I call it good. Of course when I first got it gas mileage was only about 8 so 15 is a huge improvement.
My F-150, my DD, gets about the same but at least I can run the cheap shit in it.

Well you got me on that one...

A couple of differences though...one guy, not a prominent group of elected politicians...still a weak move however. People know the prices whether you stand for a photo op in front of the pumps or not.

We bought it cuz it was a 6 cyl so I assumed it would be better on gas...shit, for 15 mpg I might as well have gotten the 8 cyl. I have a friend with a -92 Chevy pickup that gets 20 mpg...it's a stick but still.

Thatís the same problem my truck has, a full sized rig with a V-6 mill so its working harder to lug the weight around and doesnít get any better gas mileage than a V-8 in the same rig.

I think the overall point of the thread was that the Dems were bitching about the price of gas when it was close to 70 cents lower than it is now...and now it's not an issue.

Boy howdy.

When pollsters ask Republicans and Democrats whether the president can do anything about high gas prices, the answers reflect the usual partisan divisions in the country. About two-thirds of Republicans say the president can do something about high gas prices, and about two-thirds of Democrats say he canít. But six years ago, with a Republican president in the White House, the numbers were reversed: Three-fourths of Democrats said President Bush could do something about high gas prices, while the majority of Republicans said gas prices were clearly outside the presidentís control.
