He has had more than his fair share of dribblers off the bat on some half-assed swings lately. He's too talented for that to be happening and that just increases the frustration with him.

I just don't get your irrational disdain for Hosmer. He's a 22 year-old going through some early career struggles. He'll come around.

I can't speak for him personally, but my issue with Hosmer is his approach. He continues to swing out of his shoes at inopportune times and isnt working the counts, or looking for his pitches. Every at bat seems to be on the pitchers terms. I get the low babip, and his luck being largely bad, but apart of that can also be attributed to all the week grounders right back to the pitcher and other lousy at bats.

I believe he will come around, hes had a ton of lasers end up as outs, but a start like this can really mess with a young players psyche and thats not good for our future franchise player. If he can string together a few weeks of good ball, he will be just fine.

You can tell this is a young team, for sure. They get in these funks where the season looks lost, then they reel off a couple wins and get to a record like 22-28. Certainly not great but close enough to .500 that it looks attainable with a hot streak.

GMDM is doing the right thing and letting Meyers rake and Frenchy raising his value at this point. IIRC Super 2 week is coming up soon and as soon as that happens (I believe this is the first prediction I've made this year) Frenchy is gone and Meyers is up.

And at around the same time we'll be getting Sal and Cain(who I still don't think is ready)
back.

Paulino has now given up 0 runs in 4 of his 6 starts.

While many of us give DM crap about things we all need to remember this find off the scrap heap.

Frenchy probably isn't going anywhere. At the end of the month, once the Super 2 deadline passes, we'll probably see an outfield of Gordon, Myers, and Frenchy, and I'm great with that.

True, he was also fighting, inexplicably, for the 5th spot in the rotation in Spring Training, and I don't care what his stats were in the spring.

Nice win last night. I was surprised two runs held up, but Oakland seemed determined to run themselves out of innings. Great job by Paulino and bullpen. Cool to win for da ladies!

What about Cain? I know that he may be on the same track as Perez in rehab. Goes back to AAA, then becomes trade bait?

Or allow for depth in the outfield, possible platoon situations, not having to suffer through a hole in the lineup (such as Dyson) when a 4th outfielder is needed.

Glad to see we are playing better. To be honest I'd be thrilled with a .500 season this year. Hosmer will come around. He does need to learn to watch some pitches.

It would be a mistake to get rid of Cain IMO unless the offer is lopsided.

I think Dyson will have a role on this team even if we keep Cain and Myers. If you further develop his approach at the plate he will be a worthwhile investment.

Not teachable at the ML level, IMO. His approach is simply an abortion. Terrible fundamentals (drops back shoulder, weak front side, steps to first), poor pitch recognition, and no power.

Berroa had a better approach than Dyson.

I don't think Myers has the wheels for CF.

If Frenchy hasn't gotten hot by the trade deadline, expect to see Myers in Omaha all season for contract control reasons as Frenchy plays out the season.

No reason to rush him up if there's no place to play him, and I really think RF is the only sensible spot.

Frenchy is hitting about .280. He's played well lately. His 5 hr have come in the past few weeks.

Instincts are more important than speed, and Myers is an outstanding athlete.

His eminent promotion to the club has nothing to do with rushing; his bat is ML ready, and he'll offer an immediate and important upgrade.
