Under questioning by House oversight committee chairman Darrell Issa, senior U.S. Labor Department officials revealed that the Obama administration counts oil lobbyists, bus drivers, garbage men, bicycle shop employees and used-record store clerks as “green jobs.”

It's a job that costs taxpayers 5 or 10 times more "green" to create than it will ever pay out in salary.

Not to totally cross the boundaries here, but I've seen some TV shows regarding "green" remodeling of homes. What they do is rip out anything they don't consider green and replace it with stuff that is manufactured in the green manner (at a green job plant).

Items that are currently existing cause no more damage to the environment just because they are there. A green construction project would only remove things that are broken, out of date functionally or emitting some kind of toxic gasses.

Being pro-active when it comes to building and remodeling is OK, but don't destroy something that is totally functional that may have been manufactured years back but does not constitute any continuing damage to the environment.
