The picks in front of and behind Poe have been signed for a while, no?
Looks like this comes down to Fletcher Cox.

i don't know that it comes down to anything.

there is only wiggle room of about .4 million, so it shouldn't be that difficult

4 years, 11.3 - 11.7 million

Biggest thing in these contracts is the language and guarenteed money.

Signing Poe gets easier for Chiefs

June, 18, 2012 Jun 186:30PM ETBy Bill Williamson |

There isn’t much keeping Dontari Poe from signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The defensive tackle was the No. 11 overall draft pick in April. Monday, Philadelphia signed defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. He was the No. 12 pick. Previously, Buffalo signed cornerback Stephon Gilmore, the No. 10 pick.

Thus, the two players sandwiched between Poe are signed and Poe's contract can be slotted btween the two finished deals. Rookie contracts are much easier to finalize as part of the new CBA. So with the contracts done between him, I can see Poe signing sometime soon.

Poe is the Chiefs’ lone remaining unsigned draft pick. San Diego has signed its entire class. Denver and Oakland each have two unsigned rookies.

Poe signed weeks ago but since he was such a shitty pick. The PR wagon has been in full baby kissing - practicing without a contract mode/TK

They've been keeping a lid on why this deal isn't done. It makes no sense that he hasn't signed.

It makes no sense that he hasn't signed.

Why? Cox was drafted right after him and just signed.

Training camp doesnt begin for another month.

It should happen soon.

Why do assume there is drama?

I'm with okie.

I think he is already signed.

Remember, we have a brand new person handling our pr...she is driving the media car.

They are probably waiting for the "right time" to announce his signing.

It sucks that there won't be any rookie holdouts anymore. Kinda added a little bit of suspense to the offseason.

It's good that they kind of eliminated rookie holdouts but at least the rumors about holdouts gave people something to talk about during the boring parts of the offseason.

Also there won't be anymore surprise contracts like the one DHB got a few years ago.

Cox signed yesterday so there's no reason for Poe to wait any longer.

Right before they quietly raise parking prices to $41 (per person)

Great news. There's still 5 weeks until training camp.
No chance Poe misses any time.

The only realistic reason for me is Pioli doesnt want $$$ to be a distraction before camp; spending wise. Id want his mind right too and not, what am I gonna buy, staying out late etc. Makes sense

Because anymore there isn't any reason to wait to see where he's slotted. He is already slotted by the pay scale. Take last year's 11th pick and adjust it. Its not rocket science. If he's still not signed it is because one side or the other is not giving on intangibles.

31 draft picks remain unsigned
Posted by Mike Florio on July 5, 2012, 9:16 PM EDT

In past years, the process of signing draft picks didn’t heat up until after the Fourth of July. This year, more than 200 draft picks already have inked four-year deals.

As of this posting, 31 rookies remain unsigned. Of that amount, 14 were picked in the first round.

None of the top eight picks in the draft have agreed to terms. Browns running back Trent Richardson, the third overall pick, has said he’ll wait for the first two selections (Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin, III) to sign their deals. Luck’s contract supposedly is close, according to owner Jim Irsay. But that was nearly two weeks ago.

Four of the top eight picks are represented by CAA, and all eight are believed to want fully-guaranteed contracts without so-called “offset language.” The teams are resisting, and no one is blinking, yet.

At No. 20, the Titans and receiver Kendall Wright could be squabbling over whether he’ll get a four-year fully-guaranteed deal, given that the player taken in the 20th spot last year (Bucs defensive end Adrian Clayborn) received a four-year fully-guaranteed contract, even though the three players taken before him didn’t. Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden, taken No. 22 in the draft, reportedly wants a fully-guaranteed contract even though the player taken in that slot last year didn’t get four years of fully-guaranteed compensation.

Though it’s too early to worry about training-camp holdouts, the shrinking class of unsigned players only becomes more glaring as more of the unsigned players sign their rookie contracts. It would be a surprise if there isn’t at least one draft pick who fails to make it to training camp on time, regardless of the reality that the vast majority already have ensured their attendance.

Gotta wonder what the holdup with Dontari Poe is. You’d think that his numbers would be easy to figure out now that the 10th and 12th picks have been signed.

Riley Reiff hasn’t signed either, but at least he’s been to all of the OTA’s and mini camp. Nothing worse than a selfish rookie. They want to get paid for having done nothing.

All of the unsigned draft picks show up for OTAs and minicamp. They are protected financially against injury.

Wasn’t the rookie wage scale supposed to eliminate holdouts?

Greed is infiltrating the college ranks like never before. Make them play at least a couple years before they attempt to break the bank.

Condon is a notorious shi*theel. He’ll do anything to soak the owners, and that’s why so many players hire him.

This was 2 weeks ago. Still no need for the drama.

Still 3 more weeks until TC.
