I got a card from my kids it says:

Happy Father's Day

Today,

Fathers across the land are being

Honored,

Revered,

and Respected!

(Inside)
Monday,
It's back to normal *
Have a great day
(and enjoy it while you can!)

This is my dedication song. It's good to reflect with time spent with your dad.

I lost my dad 3 years ago. So I would say to anyone that is debating whether or not to go see your dad, just go do it. You don't know if this could be your last Father's Day with him.

On a happier note, I made out pretty well this Father's Day. I got my first Harley on Friday and yesterday we picked up a new cast iron charcoal grill. :)

My dad passed away two years ago in January. Watching the Cards/Royals today, he liked both teams. Rooted for the Cards as a kid, Royals as an adult.

For you new dads, all the best, enjoy the day with shortie!

Most of you know that my wife and I both unexpectedly lost our fathers within a year of each other. This year, she commissioned a painting of my father from a family friend who had done a painting of her dad shortly after his death. Now they can both hang in our art gallery together. Very touching surprise from my lovely wife.

HFD gents.

My daughters made me a loaf of banana bread. All by themselves. They are 6 and almost 8. I loved it! And I shared a little with them too.

Overall a great day.

My cat gave me a very nice and touching card that he dictated to my wife. It was quite special to me.

my wife let me know that she'd run over my dog, backing out of the garage to go to church.

so, while they all ate sunday dinner, i put her(the dog) down and loaded her(the dog) into the pickup and took her to the river and buried her in a spot where we hunted for arrowheads.

Just got around to reading this and thought I'd share.

Robb Flynn, Machine Head (http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/artists/machine-head): .....
"And then there's the hilarious and absurd parts of being a heavy metal dad: We played the Download Festival in England in 2007 when Zander was three, and Wyatt was six months old. I flew home the day after, and when I walked in the door at three in the afternoon, my wife handed the kids over and said "your turn," and walked out the door. Zander proceeded to make seven poopy diapers that day. SEVEN POOPY DIAPERS!!! 24 hours ago, I was a Metal God commanding 65,000 people into a frenzy that Kerrang! magazine said "blew Slayer away," and now I'm changing seven poopy diapers! Ah, fatherhood, it has a good way of humbling you.
