View Full Version : Home and Auto Return Policy: Bad Customer Service???

I bought a pair of moccasins from Famous Footwear on line. Ordered one pair of men's XL. Placed the order last Tuesday. Order showed up in USPS today. Nice shoes. Only problem is, they are a men's small, not XL.

OK, I'll return them I'm thinking to myself. Go online, download the form for return. They make the customer pay the return shipping!

Even though they screwed up and sent the wrong thing, they expect their customers to pay for the return! I've been in customer service for over 25 years. When my company makes a shipping mistake, we pay the shipping to get the item back. It's not fair to a consumer to have to pay more because the vendor made a mistake.

Needless to say, I won't be buying online from these bozos again. I advise all my CP pals to avoid buying online from Famous Footwear until they change this policy!

Power to the little people!!!

Call them "burly man house shoes" if you like that better. Woolrich, they're nice. Just the wrong damn size!

Zappo's saved my marriage. We would get in some bad arguments when my wife would order shoes online and then would have to pay to send them back.

Had you made it past there, you probably would have stopped at the next phrase: "from Famous Footwear"

Do they even sell shoes for people above age 12?

My feet are quite svelte...actually.
Feet and hair are about the only thing I have left!
That's why I like to buy shoes and hats.

Tell them you're going to call your credit card company to cancel the payment. If they don't then pay for your shipping, call your credit card company and cancel the payment.

Also did you pay for shipping on the order?

I did pay for shipping.

There's a retail store about 15 minutes from where I work. I'll go there over lunch and see if they'll exchange them for me.

They're very nice, just way too small. They're size 8 and I wear a 12.

If there's a store 15 minutes away, why didn't you just go buy them there in the first place? I don't buy anything online unless it's the only way to get it.

Zappos.

Zappos is good. And I also use runningwarehouse.com - they actually include a return shipping label in the box with the shipment in case you need to return anything. Very helpful.

Your timing is spooky. I bought two new pairs of shoes from Zappos last week. One was a Cole Haan and the other a pair of Johnston & Murphy. The Cole Haan fit perfect according to size but the J&M did not. I called them up to do an exchange to buy another pair of Cole Haan's and return the J&M's.

They did it in 5 minutes, shipped me the new pair BEFORE the old pair was even returned 100% free as the exchange was the same price, and today I printed out the return label and the ill-fitting pair are going back.

Photo attached from my desk.

Zappos can't be beat!!!

I guess I never think of the shipping - that's what Prime is for. :)

As for tax, I actually am weird about that one. I think they should have to charge tax everywhere. (They only have to in Kansas because of their distribution facility in Coffeyville.)

I have been buying the same pair of Minnetonka's for years.

While I agree about tax in all states. It is nice to not have to pay it now and then. Love newegg for that.

I don't order enough from Amazon to make Prime worth it to me. No, I am not interested in their videos and kindle books. I've looked over their movie selection and practically everything I would want to see wasn't Prime approved.

Prime isn't worth $80.

$15.80 is a fair price though :)

ahhhh. Whose credit card takes the hit though? Also, you are then sharing an account with someone elses credit card info. That entails a lot of trust.

It hits 1 account, and none of the accounts share any info. All you need to know about the other person is their email, full name and DoB. I have people Paypal me the $ once a year.
