Time period from July 2011 through June 2012 for some strange reason. Read 'em and weep.

Slideshow that is annoying to have to click through but is the only way to see the list:

Weird not 1 Royal on the list and way more golfers then i expected. This list really got me thinking. The days of huge rookie contracts like Sam Bradford are gone with the new rookie pay scale. How could we not pay Bowe? And isn't it next year the Chiefs have to spend money as part of the CBA?

This list posed several surprises to me, including:

1. The number of tennis players on the list.
2. The number of soccer players on the list.
3. The number of golfers on the list.
4. The number of cricket players on the list.
5. The number of race car drivers on the list.
6. The fact that basketball wasn't on the top of the major sports lists.
7. The fact that football was competitive with baseball (though that may just be an artifact of football's bonus structures).
8. The fact that quarterbacks didn't dominate the football list.
9. How low football player endorsements are compared to other sports, though it makes sense when you realize that sports like golf and tennis have built-in markets for their own equipment.
10. Rolando McClain.

Um, I think Haloti Ngata might be vastly overpaid.

Amazing that despite being maybe 1/100th as popular as it once was, boxing has the top 2 highest paid athletes.

Kinda makes you wonder...

This stupid slide show has lured me into looking at others. I really expected KC to be on the list of most dangerous cites. I was surprised anchorage being near the top, looks like you don't want to go there unless you wanna get rapped. Better hide your kids, hide your wife.... Their snatching up everybody.

3. solo sport
4. you got me
4. solo sport
5. solo sport
6. basketball players have a max contract
7. arbitration distorts average contracts and the big money goes to the stars in football

9. golf and tennis players relate more to luxery items
10. he got in under the old rookie contract system. See Tyson Jackson.

Jesus Christ.

not counting the playoffs, that would equate to 536,000 dollars for each time he touched the ball carrier.
