Outcry over mother in labor camp

A mother's suffering has sparked nationwide outrage.

Meanwhile, authorities in central China's Hunan province have launched an investigation into her case in which she was sent to a labor camp after petitioning for justice for her daughter who was raped and forced into prostitution at age 11.

China Report has the story...

Link: http://www.cncworld.tv/news/v_show/26728_Outcry_over_mother_in_labor_camp.shtml

Reading news from China, sometimes one has to read between the lines.

1. It took six years for the perps to be sentenced. Could we say, someone has connection to the higher up?

2. She was sent to labor camp, without a trial.

3. The mother asked for death penalty for all seven offenders, because her daughter was left infertile by the repeated assaults. Her father says the girl's physical and mental states are still in poor condition, she still has psychological problems when she faces men. She had done numerous petitions but being ignored. Finally, the police fed up and acted against her.

Thanks to the internet, the news of her being sentenced sparked an outcry throughout the nation. She was released (http://www.china.org.cn/china/2012-08/11/content_26205588.htm).

If we knew half of what the Chinese government did to their people , we would probably stop buying Chinese products.

In China they don't even stop to help a child hit by a car. This isn't really surprising.

Seems like alot of the shit on store shelves these days comes from foreign countries with poor human rights records.

Communism entails atheism and eventually leads to poor human rigt because the the value of individual human life is driven down to zero. A person has no value, people are only a resource and only the state matters. That is how you end with a culture that forces abortions and won't stop to help someone who is run over by a truck.

Atheism does not equal a lower value for human life dumbass.

I thought certain keywords were picked up by the CP Mod-puters and had this thread in DC by now with a post like this.

Atheism does not equal a lower value for human life dumbass.that's an interesting concept though. what is the value of human life, and where do people get this value from? is it something inherent in an individual? something that can be lost through desensitization/conditioning/etc which can result in things like mass shootings?

Religion did not invent morality. Religion just wrote down what everyone was already doing and suggested that it might be a swell idea. You can even see the golden rule hard-wired into animals in many cases, helping the sick with the expectation that they themselves will also be helped if needed.

It's not really a communist state anymore. It's a dictatorship, but not really a communist dictatorship.

And your tying atheism into poor human rights is pretty weak.

Rather than roll my eyes or make fun of this post with name-calling like others have, I'll just spell out what you have obviously missed: you are giving WAY too much credit to, or not enough condemnation of, communism in its own merits.

Communism is not inherently atheist, at all. All else being equal they'd actually like to have all of their citizens be religious. Why? Because religion in China is only permitted upon approval by the state. All religious leaders and services in China are either hand-picked by the government or strictly regulated and monitored. Religion is a useful tool for the Chinese government to brainwash their citizens into obedience and striving for social peace and harmony, and accepting their role in society.

Its not atheism which leads to human rights violations (which is an utterly ridiculous statement), it is communism itself. Human nature generally rebels against communism because almost everyone wants to have the freedom to make their own fortune and democratically elect their leaders. Communism can only function by ruthlessly squashing dissent and beating the people into submission for the greater good of the collective, and the communist leaders are often happy to use religion as a useful tool to further those ends whenever possible.

Its the form of government, and only the form of government which leads to human rights abuses. There is no intermediate step, Communism is directly, inevitably responsible.

Dick Cavett: Here he is, Forrest Gump. Right here. Mr. Gump, have a seat. Forrest Gump, John Lennon.
John Lennon: Welcome home.
Dick Cavett: You had quite a trip. Can you, uh, tell us, uh, what was China like?
Forrest Gump: Well, in the land of China, people hardly got nothing at all.
John Lennon: No possessions?
Forrest Gump: And in China, they never go to church.
John Lennon: No religion, too?
Dick Cavett: Ah, it's hard to imagine.
John Lennon: Well, it's easy if you try, Dick.
