Do any of you guys get a thrill out of doing crazy stuff?

I want to do this so bad, but admittedly I am scared shitless.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJ-slNvmFYA

Are there any places in Kansas/Missouri where you can do this stuff?

I'd never try it. The risk is not worth the reward in my opinion

You might say that I am somewhat thrill seeking but bungee jumping has never appealed to me.

This type of thing should only be done as military experiments on conscientious objectors.

Did it a few times in highschool, had money to blow. Nerve wracking as fuck when you get out on the ledge, but you just have to let yourself go. That or be the pussy who gets brought back down. Nobody wants to be that guy though.

Bungee Jumping? Is this MTV Sports?

Fuck yeah I'd do it....be scared as shit but I'd do it. That's one of those where I'd be screaming like a girl on the way down, but nothing would be coming out of my mouth. Like a silent scream.

I rock climb a lot, but that's much safer than bungee or sky diving. If you know what you're doing I consider it safer than 4-wheeling/motorcycle racing and the like. It may be a comfort factor that I have with it compared to other "extreme sports." I've done it a lot so I'm more confident doing it than a lot of other similar sports.

I don't find the experiences I get from very tall water slides and vertical roller coasters enjoyable. I get injured from playing kickball. I'm gonna pass.

Don't do the new bonsai slide at 6 flags water park then.

Me? I do something for an adrenaline dump at least two times a week. Junkie, addict, whatever you want to call me...

I won't skydive. I've posted it before but I'll do it again. I know myself too well and I've seen it happen to friends. If I did skydiving, I'd be hooked. I'd need a $1500 jump suit, $400 boots, helmets, cameras, canopies, and probably even an airplane by the time it was finished. A 365-day worldwide golf tour would be cheaper.

I've done bungee jumping (not at that height) and skydiving. Used to be into that stuff. Then I almost died while water skiing and ever since I've had a healthier appreciation for the risks I expose myself to.

Skydiving is an amazing experience. Nothing compares to that feeling as you force yourself to exit the plane.

I was a raft guide on the Royal Gorge New River, WV. I've watcched the idiots bungie off that bridge while they were looking at us idiots below paddling that river.

I personally am somewhat scared of heights and could've never got in the position to make the jump.

I've bungied several times. Once at ~140', and twice at ~250'.

It was quite a rush. I really enjoyed it. Some dude went like 3 spots after me the last time, and ended up shitting his pants on the way down though. That was..... interesting..

Did that while we were out there a couple of weeks ago. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be 108 floors and 855' up.

I'm about the farthest thing from what you'd call a thrill seeker.

I once did a very short bungee jump once. Was scared beforehand & during, never got the "rush" when it was over. Just wanted to be done with it ASAP.

So clearly something is missing for me to make it fun.

jspchief
08-14-2012, 08:30 AM
I think it's crazy that the guy helping the girl isn't wearing any safety gear and is just there on the edge like it's nothing. He has a safety line attached to what looks like a harness that only contains his waist and lower body. If you watch closely you'll see the black line that extends and retracts with his movement. And you can see rope leg harnesses on the legs of both workers. Even so, their harnesses appear to be inadequate.

My only jumps were from a 40 ft. cliff in Jamaica into the water, that is and will be the extent of my thrill seeking from high places.

I wouldn't mind trying the skydiving thing someday.

I did 5 static line skydive jumps from 5,000 feet back in the early-90's.. it was a rush, but there's just too much that could go wrong. And now that I have a wife and kids, I'd NEVER take the risk of making them fatherless.
