Extend during the season:

Belcher, Albert, Colquitt, Jackson

Wait until free agency, make your best offer and see what happens:

Dorsey, Hillis, Gafford

Re-up for another year:

Maneri, Patterson, Daniels, Pitoitua

Let 'em go:

Quinn, O'Connell, Lilja, Harris, Toribio, Siler

Franchise:

Bowe

What are you losing if you let those guys go?

You draft for a franchise QB hopefully, so there's no need for Quinn. You hopefully spend a mid-rounder or two on OL. And invest in ILBs in the draft.

If they have to franchise Bowe again, then I would say it's probably time to explore a trade. Hopefully they are able to reach an extension at the end of the season.

Albert, Bowe, and Colquitt are our top priorities.

Everything else don't care. Just don't do anything stupid like let Brandon Carr walk.

I re-sign Toribio and Gafford and let the rest go.

Colquitt? Honestly, punters are a dime a dozen in the NFL.

Dude.....Carr was going to be a Cowboy regardless of what Pioli was going to give, assuming it's not something that's crazy.

I'm not extending Belcher. I'm finding his replacement in the draft. Belcher is a complete liability in coverage.

they better fucking sign Colquitt.

He has been the best player on this team for the last like 7 seasons. I am sure he will be the MVP again this year.

We probably wanted Kuechly.

I would pretty much guarantee they wanted him.

Belcher is a good backup and good special teams thumper, but the guy is a 2 down linebacker in the NFL.

I think it would be a mistake to do the wait and see with Dorsey. The guy is the Chiefs best d-linemen sure he's out of place but he's still very good.

Long term deals during the season with Dorsey and Albert should be the main priority and Hillis also if he performs. Then everything else is manageable.

If you franchise Bowe again we are paying him about 12 million based on the new CBA rules.

Bowe is obviously the priority. If he ends up leaving, we damn well better get some high draft picks in return.

Albert is a middle of the road LT, but he's worth re-signing. No need to waste a top pick on a LT in next year's draft.

Hillis should be given a new contract. I have a feeling he's gonna have a real nice year, and make key plays throughout the season. But since he only signed a 1 year deal, he's probably looking to sign a big contract somewhere else next year.

Last year Albert was arguably a top 10 LT. It would be wise to keep that around.

This is a position where I think the Chiefs have been preparing for his replacement. So I don't think this is going to hurt us as much.

Losing Albert will hurt a lot. Because we have to hope Stephenson is ready to step in right away. Either that or we'll have to overpay for another Left Tackle, who wasn't good enough to be a priority for another team.

i do find it hard to believe they get a long term deal done with Dorsey AND pay Jackson 14 million next year. So like 1/3 of the cap will be in 3 d-lineman. Not good.

Options are probably
Dorsey Walk-Keep Jackson
Dorsey Sign-Cut Jackson
Dorsey Sign-Jackson restructure (I doubt this)
The Dorsey Sign-Jackson 14 million just doesnt make sense cap wise, we will have absolutely nothing to spend in FA and people will piss and crap themselves over their FA wishlist when we go diving into the bottom of the barrel for the Bobby Engrams and Tony Ugohs.

Extend Bowe, Albert, Colquitt in season.

Try to sign toribio, Dorsey.

Draft Manti Te'o and watch as he becomes the next great ILB in the league.

Dorsey will be gone. JMO. They will attempt to replace him in the mid rounds, or through free agency.

Hopefully he goes to a 4-3 team.

Name the 15 starters better than Albert and the 16 worse.

I knew somebody wouldn't like that.

I just don't see him as an elite LT. Yeah, he's mostly good at pass blocking and run blocking, but I don't think he excels at either. Outside of AFC West fans, I don't think many people could name him as our LT. But like I said, he's worth re-signing.

mcaj22

"hes mostly good at pass blocking and run blocking"

what in the blue hell else do you want your LT to be good at? Giving Cassel a handjob? What more do you want

You're missing the point. IMO, he's neither an elite pass blocker, nor an elite run blocker. He's not a piece of shit either. More of a jack of all trades, master of none.

He's above average at both though.

I see your point, but maybe "middle of the road" wasn't the best choice of words for him.

That would mean basically what Dane said. He's the 16th best LT.

But he's about 6 spots better than that.

I know you might not care but according to PFF Albert was a top 5 pass blocking LT.

And ranked 20th as a run blocker for LT's.

You're looking at OTs as a whole, not just LTs.

But you're right that he's not elite.

Even in 2010, his best year as a run blocker, he was ranked 7th among LTs as a run blocker.

Last year he fell off to 13th.

Be interesting to see what he is this year.

He'd be better if Lilja is gathering splinters while Allen is starting.
