Damn. We have very similar tastes. But I'm about in the same situation. LOST was probably my all time favorite, and i've seen every episode of breaking bad and dexter. Probably prefer Dexter, but it's not by much. I still haven't seen the Walking Dead but i've heard great thing about it

Justified

Oh yeah I've been wanting to watch this. I forgot about FX. I watch Sons of Anarchy too, but it's not one of my faves or anything.

Justified is great. The Sherlock BBC series is pretty good. Carnivale was a decent time waster. Twin Peaks is entertaining. If you haven't seen Rome, it's top notch. You might like Lillyhammer. Damages was good. I tried to get into Luther, but found it kind of meh. Lastly, I'm working up the nerve to delve into Downtown Abbey.

That's one of those show I'll have to check out just to see what the fuss is about.

I hope it is incredibly boring. I don't really need another black hole of time wasted in my life.

Oh, and i forgot the Julia Louis Dreyfuss series Veep. It's pretty damn funny.

Already watch SoA. Probably going to start Justified soon.

I like Suits on USA. They just had the season finale last week though, so it's something you'd need to catch up on online or something. Pretty damn good show.

Shoot, I just saw the other thread. Nevermind.

If you have HBO Go, check out Oz. It has its uncomfortable moments, as its set in prison, but overall it was extremely well-written and acted. You will see quite a few familiar faces on it.

Its interesting to go back and watch Hill Street Blues to see the origins of the template for the modern workplace drama. The first couple of seasons of both ER and Grey's Anatomy hold similar interest in the evolution of the form.

It could be interesting to watch The West Wing, Sports Night, Studio 60 and The Newsroom simultaneously to see where Sorkin works and where he doesn't.

That and L.A. Law were some of the first serialized dramas that wasn’t a “Soap Opera” that I remember.

Yes it is outstanding.

I have a buddy that suggested Magic City on Starz, but I haven't caught it yet.

I am a really big fan of Suits, White Collar, and Burn Notice on USA. My wife likes them too. She has a totally different taste in TV than I do, so they obviously appeal to a variety of different tastes.

A show that might interest you, and it's only had one 10 Ep season so far, so it's not a huge time suck yet, is Girls from HBO.

The characters can be maddening in their bourgie expectations and NY suburban hedonism, but it can be really funny at times and I can say with confidence that it's not 'just like everything you've seen before.' You'll surprise yourself episode by episode with who is working your last nerve and who somehow managed to grab a heartstring or two somewhere along the way.

Adam

Might be my favorite character on TV in the past year.

Peter Scolari, playing the lead character's dad, tweaking his back doing his wife doggy style in the shower, and the mom/daughter having to help him into the bedroom and his pajamas
Might be one of the funniest scenes as well.

If I had to encapsulate it, it'd be putting Slackers, Sex in the City, Curb YOur Enthusiasm, and Shamless into a blender, with just a pinch of Portlandia's twee PC cute/funny pretentiousness [you might be able to substitute a pinch of Jonathan Ames' Bored to Death for Portlandia if necessary, the Brooklynite sensibility certainly lends the proper flavor].

Here's a few minutes to let you know how good it can be. Captain of Industry type tries to hook up some Williamsburg strange, wowing them with his hip lifestyle, and it all goes wrong.

EDIT: Rep to whomever can ID the chick in the maroon dress on the basis of her facial features. No fair if you already know or google it, but her face is distinctive enough that the observant can make the connection.
