I loved the Clancy movies--until I read the books. I like the books featuring Clark more though...

I still remember reading one of his books where a entire chapter was spent explaining the circuitry of a bomb. Talk about putting you to sleep.

I've read most of his books; the books featuring Clark/Chavez are really good.

Yeah. R6 is an amazing book. I've read it twice and I think I need to do it again as it's probably been about 8 years since my last time.

They really need to turn Without Remorse into a movie.

Yes, that's his best book IMO.

One of my favorite all time books.

Please tell me the picture of this 'Jack Ryan' is BS.

Looks like the are making without remorse into a movie. It sounds like Tom Hardy may be Clark. I'm a big Tom Hardy fan but this is an interesting role for him.

I'm seriously on the fence over this one. Is this from Clancy canon? It doesn't seem like it. And I've generally been disappointed by ghost written continuations of franchises. But they're certainly putting the full court press out in promoting it.

No. It's a complete reboot and an original story.

Too young. Jack Ryan needs to be played by a 40-year old.

Just get Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine in a room and let them duke it out to see who is the REAL JACK RYAN! I'll always be a sucker for Patriot Games and Hunt For Red October.

While Ford is great in the role, Baldwin will always be Ryan to me. I absolutely love Hunt for Red October while the others were just so so.

I liked Sum as well. Didn't really see Afleck as Ryan though.

Hunt For Red October was classic because of the ensemble cast...and honestly casting Scott Glenn as the Captain of the US Sub was perfect in my book. (That and his role in Silverado were to me his best roles)

I guess I didn't really enjoy the others....especially Sum of All Fears.

The book and the movie for "Sum of All Fears" were so vastly different from each other that they seemed to share nothing more than the title.

Clancy's early books were so damn good. "Red October" "Cardinal of the Kremlin" "Red Storm Rising," etc.

He will be missed.

Just saw this last night. It was decent. I'd read there were some twists and turns, but I thought it was relatively predictable. Also not a huge fan of Keira Knightly, movie could have been better with another female lead IMO. Chris Pine was credible.

Saw the movie and liked it overall. I mean....not an instant classic but enjoyed having a little popcorn and watching it.

There were a few plot holes that sort of baffled me and I was wondering if anyone noticed or if I missed something and shouldn't be confused...spoiler alert...I think?

What was with the flashback to the morning scene where they are in bed together and he proposes to her and she says Yes...or at least she doesn't say know they both embrace eachother and get all lovey dovey. They drop that scene but then the whole movie all around that scene they have tension because he asker her to marry her and she didn't agree to it.

Are they married or not? Why the flashback that goes against everything else the movie has to say about them being married?
