View Full Version : Are you rooting for Penn State today?

After everything their players and fans have been through, do you want them to win, or do you wish for nothing but bad things for the school?

I don't really care either way. I don't even know who they're playing.

what, exactly, have their players and fans been through?

KCUnited

I'm indifferent but I'm sure the over saturation by ESPN will drive me to root against them.

Living in Pennsylvania. Ever been there? It sucks.

Ya i'm rooting for them to lose EVERY game from now on, I actually liked Penn State a lot in my early years...Now they can lose til GOD judges this planet.

No.

Meh

No ill will to the players. They're just collateral damage.

Thousands of employees/boosters still remain at the school.

Doubtful, unless Sandusky put on the halftime show

Well yeah.

Here is an idea to make money.

Make Sandusky masks for Halloween and use it for trick or treating, or better still to answer the door.

Can you imagine the looks on the parents when their little one sees that. lol

Yes I'm rooting against them. I know, petty. Probably stems from those stupid students that tried to protect Joe's statue from being removed. Morons.

I hope the majority of PS fans didn't think that way though.

I thought I would root against them, but when it started, I found myself pulling for them. Those responsible can rot in hell, but the players didn't do anything wrong.

I, almost always, root against the Big 10 or whatever it is called now. National media gives them too much attention & I think they have had an unfair advantage over the years ... re: advantage over Big 12/SEC.

Saulbadguy

I turned it on to see the Penn State players run on to the field to start a new era of football. It's difficult to ignore that kind of scene.

I turned it off after about 10 minutes...it's Big 10 football so it's boring as shit.

I was pretty appalled that individuals affiliated with that university were protesting the removal of Joe Pa's statue after knowing he really didn't do much to stop what was happening or try to protect if from happening again. So I guess I am rooting against them.

The matte helmet is played out.

Everyone says the same. Which means they are underrated and awesome.

The two best matte helmets of all time are Mizzou's Pro Combat helmets from a few years ago, and Ohio's helmets. Ohio needs to keep the matte forever.

They should have had the death penalty... until every victim has died. They should never have to live through Penn State and certainly not ESPN exploiting their suffering for millions of dollars in national TV ad revenue.

After everything their players and fans have been through, do you want them to win, or do you wish for nothing but bad things for the school? The players and coaches were a part of the culture that put football above everything else. Penn State got what was coming to them.

The really unspoken truth is that the majority of the "big" college programs are guilty of the same mentality.

Ya i'm rooting for them to lose EVERY game from now on, I actually liked Penn State a lot in my early years...Now they can lose til GOD judges this planet.

This. I grew up in Altoona, a town near State College and I always had a soft spot for Penn State.

Then the Jerry Sandusky shit went down and every Penn State fan on my Facebook posted about how Paterno was innocent, the NCAA was unfair in their ruling...etc. Basically, the twits still put football over the horrific acts that took place and the disgusting methods to keep it private. On several occasions to several "friends", I'd respond with a dose of reality and the individual would delete the post and continue the "rah rah, we are Penn State" bullshit.

Now, that entire campus and fanbase can run face first into an AIDS tree.

I'll root against them until they replace Sweet Caroline with Rock and Roll Part 2 from Gary Glitter.

In the end, while it's nice to see ESPN... err... the NCAA crack down on Penn State and OSU deservedly, it's beyond belief that Oregon, Auburn, and Miami continue to get swept under the rug.

It would feel a little differently if the NCAA didn't crack down on teams based on public opinion as opposed to breaking actual NCAA rules.

Penn State deserved to lose. Good. Fuck them. But to me, it was more of an embarrassment that Miami won today and is still competing as if they can win a title.
