I've always liked him pretty well. I also like Barry Manilow, John Denver, Glen Campbell, The Bee Gees, a slabba Abba from time to time, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Englebert Humperdink, some Tom Jones and plenty of other "dorky" singers and listen to them all on purpose now and then.

I turn it up in the face of haters!

Heh these days and style wise, pretty dorky. You might think I mean that as a putdown though when I don't. Just speaking from a mass perspective.

Nice. I'm not too proud to admit I've got some Bolton, Bee Gees, Denver, Manilow and a few disco tunes in my mp3 catalog. Everyone should diversify.

My personal mantra regarding the subject is that there is good music everywhere, in every genre, every style and every time. Yes, there's plenty of bad too but music of any kind can be enjoyed if you don't shut yourself off from it just because of what kind of music it is.

The only style I can think of where I don't find much worth a crap is modern rap but there are a few good ones and I won't pretend there is no talent there just because I might not like it.

Yeah I know what you mean. Many of my friends are under 30 as well and most of them quite stupid about anything and anyone who hasn't been on the charts during their formative years. Luckily I have a few young friends who get that there was great music before that and are all in.

Billy Joel was and is a ****ing stud. From "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant," to "Pressure," to "Allentown," to "Goodnight Saigon," to "Downeaster (Alexa)," to "We Didn't Start The Fire" he could do all the various styles over a loooooong period of time and do them all brilliantly. He's one guy I still dream of seeing live.

"How are you? We are Uptown Girl. We are California's preeminent 1980s Billy Joel cover band."

"Piano Man"!

"What did I just say, man?"

"Start the Fire," buddy!

"Come on, man. Play something from The Stranger!"

"We strictly do '80s Joel music, sir."

"'80s Billy Joel doo-wop sucks!"

"Hey, listen, motherfucker, we only sing '80s Joel! So take your skank hooker wife
and get the fuck out of here!"

Even Billy's doo-wop stage had some great songs with great messages imo. "The Longest Time" would be an example for me.
