I have to say, I HATED 'That's What Friends are For' as a kid. But man, the overwhelming bulk of his catalog is unimpeachable.

Walk on By
Say a Little Prayer
Wishin' and Prayin'
Raindrops Keep Fallin' on my Head.

And in my early teen petulance, I was devastated that Naked Eyes' 'Always Something There to Remind Me' wasn't the number one song of the year in 1983. :doh!: Loved that song.

Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield.

He always struck me as a slightly lighter version of Paul Williams

Is this the big guy from The Green Mile and Armageddon?

I'm familiar with Bacharach. I just never heard of the other guy.

No, but it appears to be a bad time to have all first names.

David wrote the lyrics. The team wrote some of the biggest easy listening hits of the 60s and 70s. David got his career start in Big Band.
