Flowers lined up with starters at #Chiefs practice. Wouldn't think they would waste those reps if they didn't believe he would play vs. Atl

Would also be surprised at this point if D. Johnson doesn't play vs. Falcons. Could still have setback but looks like he will be ready

And since neither will be 100% AND there is no Tamba, i'd rather rest them, give them another week to heal and come back full force for week 2.

If flowers is still nursing the foot, i have a hard time seeing him being effective vs White/Jones. Same for DJ.

Routt is going to struggle and likely draw flags. The dude isn't any good. I had faith that he would be competent, but after watching some Faid games from last season and the preseason games, i have about 0 faith in him.

And whomever lines up in place of Flowers is going to get torched.

Flowers on one bad wheel in his first action of the season w/o a pass rush.....not looking forward to that scenario either.....

I think Houston might have a good game.....but it wont be enough.

I just hope this isn't a blow out.

I'd expect that they'd only let them go if they were fairly close to 100%.
If Flowers were at 80% though, I'd fully expect Crennel to scheme around that with a cushion at the line and with help over the top.

And honestly, when has Flowers EVER been 100%?

It's hard to agree with that when a 75% Flowers is still better than a 100% Brown or Reeves. If Atlanta didn't have Roddy White and Julio Jones it wouldn't be such a big deal. But we're facing 2 of the best WR's in the game this week. We need our elite corner playing in this game to even have a chance. Also, DJ is our playmaker in the run game. He gets the TFL's and brings the attitude every play.

I'm not in favor of resting these guys and losing the game. I'm in favor of playing our best players and trying to get a win.

Screw that if they turn out to be the difference in the game it will be huge that they were on the field. DJ could very well be the difference. I think he could be big if he's assigned to help out in covering TG. I think he can hang with him at this stage of his career.

Good luck with that. We won't win this game if these two don't play. If only controlling the clock and getting fans to show up was the way to win every game. Unfortunately it takes elite players to win games. Not just game management and a home field.

I will say this for all the people who think we are in for certain rape, the Falcons with Julio Jones and Roddy White lost to Tampa and almost lost to Seattle, letting the NFC Offensive MVP of eternity Tavaris Jackson pass for 300 yds and 3tds.

NOw, I'm no sure we'll win. However, the people that think that Matt Ryan is going to come in and just completely fuck us over by himself are crazy. This game is really reliant on 2 things.

1. Our defense having a solid performance. Not outstanding, but good.
2. Our offense not letting our D be on the field the entire fucking game. If we have 3 3 and outs early in this game, we're going to be fucked. We're not designed to be able to come from behind and win, largely in part to our lack of a QB.

#Chiefs injury report: Toribio, Bailey and Lewis did not practice. Johnson, Brown and Flowers were limited.

However, the people that think that Matt Ryan is going to come in and just completely **** us over by himself are crazy. This game is really reliant on 2 things.

1. Our defense having a solid performance. Not outstanding, but good.
2. Our offense not letting our D be on the field the entire ****ing game. If we have 3 3 and outs early in this game, we're going to be ****ed. We're not designed to be able to come from behind and win, largely in part to our lack of a QB.

That was last year when Ryan and Jones hadn't had an offseason to build rapport, and with coordinators that played extremely conservative football. Those coordinators are gone and this team will play a different style this year.

If you watched the team in preseason, you saw a much more aggressive approach on both offense and defense by the Falcons.

Will agree the Chiefs have to play ball control to win.

Won't say the Falcons are going to win either , think the injuries the Chiefs are dealing with + Hali's suspension make the game much more winnable for them.

Really? I watched Matty Ice complete around 12 passes for under 50 yds at one point. Listen, we both have Captain Checkdown leading our teams. Difference is, yours is good.

Your D will be better with Nolan FWIW.

Yet that is what they did with Flowers.

How did they hide that again? Every day it was reported he didn't practice etc...Did you expect to receive a personal email from Pioli with hourly updates or something?

More complete stupidity on your part.

I liked the NFL soooo much more before the oversaturation and everyone thinking they are some kind of draft/offensive-defensive mastermind.

I disagree. We need to run the ball and control the clock. We need the fans to show up. That's all we need imo.

The fans show up EVERY YEAR on opening day. This will NOT be a problem.
Despite the fans showing up, the Chiefs teams don't always show up.

Nope, just working of the short passing game at that point.- Ryan ended up with a 9.2 YPA for the preseason

Wow, 9.2 YPA.

A storm is coming.

We're about to see what a real downfield passing attack does to a team that's ill prepared to defend or respond to it.

Think about it, have you guys been this amped up for Chiefs football like you are right now?

Maybe that was his reasoning all along.

He'll be fine against Justin Houston.

He gave up 4 sacks and 16 hurries for the entire season last year.

He's an elite player.

I thought Houston was an rising star, producing elite numbers?

GoChief is the anti homer. There is no bias in his thoughts towards the Chiefs, he's not a fan. He's the ultifan.

There is no middle or gray area with the Chiefs. It's black and white. There is with other teams, when he's discussing them. You guys need to figure out his toll methods.

Or, you need to figure out that most of what he says is actually true and take off the homer glasses.

He used to be one of the bigger homers on the board. You missed the Herm years.

Complete horseshit but feel free to hang off his nuts. I am not even close to being a homer.

I hate Cassel, I don't like Pioli but I still think this team will win some games and think this could actually turn out to be a fun season.

I don't need some douchebag constantly spewing his agenda driven shit all over this place all the time and I wont be called "homer" because I disagree with his worthless ass.

The best defense in this game is going to be a good offense. Ball control, running, chewing up clock but we can't settle for 3, we have to get in the endzone.

You know, for all that a select group of people endlessly complain about Clay, none of you can resist him.

Everytime you respond to his posts and engage in conversation/argument with him, you legitimize his constant presence that you claim to hate.

It's completely beyond reason. You know he's full of shit. You know he's a troll. But you can't seem to just ignore the dumb shit he says.

I agree. As do many other people here.

And everyone knows why this is. We have the weapons in Bowe, Breaston, Baldwin, Boss, Moeaki, and McCluster... not to mention pass catching RB's in Charles and Hillis to line up a play a real football game that doesn't have to be limited to run the ball and control the clock

Yet mention a different trigger man... :shake:
