Only rule is that the series has to have at least 3 parts.

I know everyone has a bunch but pick your #1.

I don't have to think twice for mine:

The Godfather, even with III. /thread.

Second would be Scorsese's NY/Gangster progression. GoNY, Mean Streets, Goodfellas

I see you guys do this alot...with other words too. Whats it mean?

It comes from the script for bold, italics, images, etc.

You start with [b ] then END with [/ b] [spaces added to subvert script].

So, as /b is end of bold, and /i is end of italics, and /img is the end of an image link, /xxx means the end of whatever follows the /

Zatoichi the blind swordsmen. I think there are more zatoichi movies than there are Bond films.

http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/2115/zato5v1.jpg

Ichi is a blind man in feudal Japan. he goes undercover as a masseuse to get in good with gang bosses so he can play in their gambling houses. he's very good at dice games because he can hear the rattle and determine which side lands up. when the gangsters catch him cheating or they try to cheat him, things get ugly. he uses a reverse draw technique with his (shikomi zue) cane sword because that is suited to a blind man.

I've never seen The Godfather part III, but the first two were damn good.

I liked #1 better.

However, since I feel like its a copout to pick that having not seen part 3, I'll go with Lord of The Ring.

If Return of the Jedi didn't suck so much dick, I'd have chosen Star Wars.

Land Before Time...

Actually I'd have to go with either the Dark Knight Trilogy, LOTR, or Die Hard. Harry Potter would've been in there but I think theres alot of muddled filler scattered about in the middle of it.

If I had to choose one I'd go with Die Hard. It's not based on material from a book/comic/ original material outside of itself and theres classic lines in every movie, even the second =) I have the four on the blu ray collection and I could watch them all the time.

I have even more Tee shirts than that! But Return of the Furry Dipshits sucks ass. I'll never forget sitting in Glenwood Theater on opening night back on May 25th, 1983 and feeling like I was watching an episode of the Muppet Show.

LOTR is probably my favorite.

For pure popcorn movies, I really like the Resident Evil movies (though the 4th was a little weak). Underworld is another in that vein.

Back to the Future has been mentioned. I saw the first one in the theater but never got around to watching the others. When the trilogy came out on Blu-Ray, I picked it up. Let's just say I am surprised that people are listing the 2nd as the worst. I thought 2 was okay but 3 was awful.

Probably Star Trek, although only five out of the 11 are really good and four of them really stink.

Godfather and Godfather II can't be beat, except by the suck of Sofia Coppola in Godfather III.

Alien and Aliens rule, but are dragged down by the crap that came later.

Indiana Jones and Last Crusade rule, but Temple of Doom and that last abortion bring them down.

The original Bourne movies are great, but they're all essentially the same movie.

Original Star Wars movies fucked up by the new Star Wars movies. If only Lucas had died in fire in 1984.

I really liked the original Back to the Future, but really have no desire to ever see 2 and 3 again. Ditto with Matrix.

LOTR is probably the most solid all around trilogy.

Don't really give a crap about the Bond movies, and I got tired of Harry Potter being a bitch right up until the end of that series.

Forgot about Terminator - duh. I liked all of them, and the first two are fantastic.

Probably the Godfather. LOTR was pretty good too.

The one that will impact us the most from the new generation is Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

Batman will always be popular, even 50 years from now they will still be making those movies. But Nolan's trilogy will be the bar to judge the rest. He did such a fantastic job.

Heath Ledger is one of the best portrayed villains in film history and will always be remembered with his performance and his untimely passing. Ledger's Joker already ranks among the elite villains such as Hanibal Lector.

I must be put together differently [as were my friends of the day]. NoES broke me of any 'traditional' scary movie's grip. We watched it on a school trip on the hotel TV and laughed the whole time throwing popcorn at the screen, almost a prescient version of the 'horror tropes jadedness' that Scream capitalized on a decade later.

Wrong. The blonde bitch decapitated Freddy. Jason was carrying his head, which winked...clearly they were in the dream world again where Freddy made Jason his bitch.

No proof of that.

Jason carrying Freddy's severed head makes Jason unanimous winner by TKO.

Do the Dirty Harry movies count? If so, they would move to the top of my list. Big time Clint fan.

How you figure? He didn't do the decapitating. And freddys severed head winked and smiled, that wouldn't be possible in the real world.

NO!! NO!!! I WILL NOT!! read your posts in Jon Benjamin's voice!!!

For the longest time, I thought that Archer was voiced by Eugene Mirman. Of course, I'd never seen the show, but saw the ads for it all the time. When I finally looked it up, I was surprised to see that it was actually Jon Benjamin.

Godfather far and above anything else but I also love the Hannibal series just give me Manhunter with Bryan Cox as Hannibal and then add the other three.
