I don't want to read any more posts about how ROMEO MADE DJ BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Hunt is dumb as a board.

This team needed and still needs a guy like Haley cracking the whip. Too late now.

Haley was 1000 times worse than Crennel. We were never going anywhere with Haley. We might not be going anywhere with Crennel but, we were never going to win a playoff game let alone a superbowl with Haley. He was to ****ed up. We moved forward and made progress when he got canned.

How many games ago was Haley fired? 4+ games, mugs. 3 of those were "WOW!!!!! ROMEO!!!!!!" and now, the party is over. In a matter of a few games with ALL THEIR STARS PLAYING, this team is half as good.

Forget the chaos, it's been inside this franchise over a decade. It wasn't Haley.

I never had faith in Haley from day one. Pioli sat there and watched coach after coach get hired and took Haley because he was all that was left. I think Haley will be done in the NFL after this year. I could really say the same thing about Gailey that you are saying about Pioli.

RAC is not doing a good job but, it's deeper than that. It's the way Pioli hung onto guys like DJ, Flowers, and Charles. These guys were paid to be leaders and they aren't. It's pretty obvious to me that they don't care. Pioli's got to go and we need to start over again.

All I know is that if you are a HC who gets fired in the middle of the season, it is for very good reason. In fact, it's pretty easy to surmise that you were warned about certain things prior to getting fired.

I'm not saying we don't need a new HC. I'm just saying Haley was about the worst you could get. He was fired for a good reason.

Exactly. Saying Hunt shouldn't have fired Haley is stupid. It was an easy decison for him as he didn't even wait until the end of the year.

From day one I hated Haley. I had it out for him for years. People hated me for it. They would bitch about my Haley bitching and I never stopped. I saw the bad early. Maybe you guys see the bad in Crennel? I see some bad but it's not all bad. I don't think changing coaches now will make a difference. It made an immediate difference with Haley.

Mugsy, they replaced Dorsey in the line up today. They need to replace DJ & Cassel now. It's time to give somebody else a chance, for sure.

This team has made 4 coaching changes in just over 4 years, yet this team just doesn't play consistently under any coach.

It's isn't the coaching so much as it is certain key players.

If an NFL team had a coaching specialist called "designated hard ass", Haley would be perfect. He gets final say on whether a player gets to play or not and gets to scream in players faces until they start playing better.

Exactly. Saying Hunt shouldn't have fired Haley is stupid.

Not nearly as stupid as suggesting that Haley was 1000x worse than this mess. NOTHING is worse than what we saw today. Haley's decision to start Tyler Palko was bad but in no way is that worse than this.

There's absolutely no excuse for the defense to look this bad after taking the path of least resistance and hiring Romeo as head coach.

It's even MORE inexcusable given that one of the reasons given for Haley's failure was that he couldn't keep his hands out of the playcalling. So what does Pioli do? Allows Romeo to assume both duties. Absolutely moronic.

It was an easy decison for him as he didn't even wait until the end of the year.

Of course it was easy for him after the outburst against the Jets. Haley gave Pioli the perfect opportunity. Of course, Pioli wanted to fire him much earlier than that. Because Haley wouldn't toe the line.

And to that end, that makes this WORSE than Haley. The ONLY reason Pioli has to hire Romeo is that he's a foot-shuffling porter.

From day one I hated Haley. I had it out for him for years. People hated me for it. They would bitch about my Haley bitching and I never stopped. I saw the bad early. 09-16-2012, 03:36 PM
No way, Haley was worse in my opinion. I could literally give 1000 reasons why but I'm not going to waste my time and effort. I literally probably have the material.

For the record, I don't think it had anything to do with outburst against the Jets. It had to do with the throwing the ball at Revis and Cromartie the first three plays of the game with Palko as your QB. That's the kind of crap that got Haley fired. He was just a bad coach all around.

Yeah, the owner sucks. I see it more than ever at this very moment.

But Pioli fired the wrong guy. It's clear to me that all the Pioli / Haley issues were because of one Matt Cassel. Had Denver acquired Matt Cassel instead of us, I wonder what the state of the Chiefs would be right now? Despite seemingly being a nice guy, Cassel is just a fucking cancer to this organization.

I don't care who the Rooneys know. The Rooneys are outstanding owners and they don't hire coaches out of loyalty to others. They hired Haley. So given that there have been more than just whispers about how dysfunctional the Chiefs are, I'll chalk that up to the ownership being a problem, not the coach. It's not a secret that the Chiefs went really far out of their way to make Haley's life miserable. Haley didn't respond well, but what coach should have to go through that?

I agree that they fired the wrong guy. I get that Haley maybe deserved walking papers. But that doesn't justify the embarrassing way they treated him. Nor does it justify with firing him in order to hire a crony like Romeo.

He was an asshole, but that was when this team needed a boot. He toned down after they won the division and after losing Moeaki, Berry & Charles, he kept his cool and kept the team focused to some degree.

Last year the excuse was those star players absent, this season fans are finally getting a fix on how bad this football team really is. Honestly, it's is amazing to me they did not go 0 - 16 those seasons before 2010. Absolute luck.

Well at this point, like Payton Manning, I'm not sure a good coach would agree to work for this GM or owner. So RC may suck, and he does, but when they send him to the permanent buffet in the sky, they'll just replace him with another non-football guy. I think there's a special handshake out there that tells Hunt to not even bother, the last think Hunt wants is an episode of Eli Manning refusing to come play here like he did when he was drafted... I think we're a pre-retirement couple-of-years paycheck for has-been players until Hunt sells. I guess what I'm saying is no self-respecting football person, player or coach, wants to touch the pile of dung the Hunt's built... Sucks for Chiefs fans...

I don't think he did. What I saw was Weis cover the defense. Haley was really messed up. It's like he thought he was much better than he really was and he didn't know his limitations. An NFL HC should know his limitations.

It was firing Chan Gailey

It was running off Charlie Weis

It was running a training camp differently than everyone else

It was about a three man playcalling system that tried to innovate the NFL

It's way beyond being in over his head. He tried to revolutionize the game. He was an idiot. He got himself fired and it was only a matter of time. The problems that Haley suffered from were the problems that he made.

I'm a NYC native. I've been around the meadowlands and all the Parcells' tree coaches since they all began coaching under Parcells back in '79.

I was still in NYC when those calls for Coughlin's head came. It was a minority, but a very loud group that wanted Coughlin out. Then they won the championship and that was the end. Those "geniuses" had to siddown.

Imo, Haley has better self control than Coughlin does, hence your comment Coughlin could be a bigger asshole than Haley. They are both very good coaches that coach similarly. Of course, the reason is they are both from the Parcells coaching tree.

I will say that I did respect Haley for not sticking for Bowe when he got alligator arms against the Steelers last year. After watching the tape, he was asked directly about and wouldn't answer the question. He wouldn't stand up for the guy. I believe he had alligator arms and Haley knew it. We could have had an expansion team owned by somebody who gives a shit about winning. We could have been the small midwestern city that lured the Colts or the Rams away. But no, we have the Cunts. I will agree Weis & Crennel made a huge impact along with Haley. That's kind of the signature of good football teams, is that they have 3 good coaches up top there -- HC, DC & OC. Of course, those guys often have other young assistants that are of interest too.

But last season the defense continued to make strides and stats without Weis.

Watching this defense now, I see RC has put a new alignment together using Berry at the LOS. This is backfiring in a major way. RC was sending 7 pass rushers half the time today and one of them was Berry. It failed..... Nobody got to the QB.

If Haley were still here, you would not see that, but instead you'd see this team continue to improve fundamentally. That is what Haley did for the Chiefs. The change can be seen from DJ on down. DJ is back to being a complete failure and so goes this defense.

Let's see what he does next week.

Is there a worse one-two punch in sports worse than the Chiefs and Royals? How the **** does one city end up so unlucky to have Hunt and Glass as owners? Jesus.

We're good fans. we're good people, and crooks tend to see us coming a mile away. That being said, it would be nice if some of the city officials would mention how much of the city's tax base was spent to upgrade and keep such inept teams. Heck, I might exen vote for the first to mix it up, or at least try to, with Hunt and Glass. I'm sure both will just say nothing (Why? They make millions for doing nothing!), but it'd be nice to at least see it done. I wonder if the city could refuse to send crowd control officers to work the games. They could claim lack of funds...

I will say that I did respect Haley for not sticking for Bowe when he got alligator arms against the Steelers last year. After watching the tape, he was asked directly about and wouldn't answer the question. He wouldn't stand up for the guy. I believe he had alligator arms and Haley knew it. He wouldn't blow smoke up the players asses and I liked that.

Ya, me too. Haley did not game us with fancy words, mugs and that is what the Hunts are doing with Pioli's help.

Watching this defense now, I see RC has put a new alignment together using Berry at the LOS. It failed..... Nobody got to the QB.
.

It isn't a new formation.

No, but we are running it alot more. Almost every TD given up this season has been against that formation.

I'm not sure there is a good point to this post.
