View Full Version : ChiefsPlanet Where does this meltdown rank all-time in Chiefs Planet history?

This is a pretty significant one. It's up there, certainly.

The playoff loss to Indy in 2004 was far worse. That might be #1 all time. The 2009 draft was equally meltdowny.

For the regular season, this is close to the biggest one I think this place has ever experienced.

I don't recall the Tyson Jackson pick being this big.

I don't have the history to really know, but this has to be up there. Hell, I'm usually a pretty big optimist about the team, and even I'm just about on the "Fire Pioli, RAC, and Cassel tomorrow and be done with it" wagon.

Thought about it, but I'm too lazy to think of all the meltdowns we've had as a board. Posting them all in a poll can be Rain Man's job

Given the head coach and QB, it would have been foolish to expect any better this year. Therefore, there is no reason to meltdown.

That said, I can't recall ever reading such negative KC press articles.

My 4 year old announced last year that she was going to be a Patriots fan, and at first I was hurt and then I was like....Good for you, every parent should want their child to do better than I do.

Both playoff losses were pretty bad meltdowns because they were historic. No defense in one and hardly any first downs in the other. Although there was a meltdown every other week Vermeil's first year after Trent would threw 2 or 3 picks. I recall the Cowboys and Giants back-to-back losses in 2005 being pretty bad. What happened today is almost like apathy and resignation. The 2005 ones were full rage because we had a good team and were choking away a playoff spot.

If this is the worst, it's saying something. This fan base has the grizzled leathery skin of a 100 year old cowboy's neck, the callouses of vagina of a 90 year old porn star.......

We've watched a decade of Marino while we fiddled with Blackledge and the rest of the 80s. We've suffered the bad news bears bench warmers for 3 of the last 4 decades. Christ, it's like watching Little Giants but Icebox won't play most years.

Generally after and ugly loss I like to come her and see how off the reservation people have gone, which sort of bring me back to a place where I feel a bit more optimistic. This week it isn't working at all. Luckily the 2nd and 3rd preseason games had already set me expectation level low, but when the best you can hope for is that your team won't embarrass you, and they still fail...

I'll still be rooting for the Chiefs to come out of it, but my interest might follow the Pats and the 49ers a little more closely for a while, at least they are generally fun to watch.

The QB class isn't headed by a clear cut #1 this year.

Just need to be in the top 10.

0-16 would be a hoot though. Might as well have as much ammo as possible.

Well, it's early. This pretty much happens in MOST years, although Luck staying in school threw a curve ball to that notion the past two years.

But go back to this time last year and there were very few people hyping RGIII or even Cam Newton the year before.

There WILL be a number guy come Spring 2013. Which guy remains to be seen.

We are in week 2 of a 16-week season where the fan base hasn't seen a championship for 42 years and no post season success for 19. We have a absentee, hands-off, disinterested, owner; a GM more interested in propping up perceptions than fixing realities; a head coach with a record of failure that doesn't seem to have any answers; and a QB that clearly is out of his element. We are unlikely to see any major changes in talent level on the field for the next 11.5 months. The media has unleashed the hounds. Does this sound like a situation that is about to calm down or one that could get more rowdy?

I'm simply at the point where I have no confidence in this organization whatsoever. From ownership (especially ownership) on down, this team is a steaming pile of fail. Clark Hunt is a complete fucking piece of Texas-fried shit. To hell with him and his psychopath GM. Eventually Pioli will get canned, but as long as that cheap ass prick owns the team it won't make a difference. Every dollar we're under the cap is a FUCK YOU from Clark to all of us. And that's a lot of FUCK YOUS.

Also meltdowns have a cumulative effect. It's not like I'm not still pissed off about the previous ones.
