Every time we go to my mother-in-law's house, they have one of these shows on by 8pm. She's usually playing solitaire on a little handheld solitaire "device" she has while her husband dozes in the recliner with some interchangeable crime drama on. My wife and I look at each other, pantomime shooting ourselves, and step out on the back porch to have a drink and talk at that point.
