personally I'd rather have Bray, Wilson has an injury history and has taken a shitload of hits already.

I don't know about Bray. He has the ideal set of tangibles.

But I'm not sure he has the emotional/mental mindset to be a top-flight NFL QB. The more I hear, the more I think Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell.

See that's the thing, from my impression Bray could be like Marino in which it comes all together and starts tearing it up. He has a great bust value, no question but Bray's situation reminds me of Marino a lot that the pros may very well outweigh the cons.

How many Super Bowls did Marino win?

In many ways, Marino is the poster child for the "prick" QB that never could become a real leader of men.

I guess beggars can't be choosers, but I don't want Phillip Rivers or Jay Culter. Stats don't win championships, winners do.

Bray is a QB that will boom or bust. If he busts it will be quick so that we can move on and try another QB that we drafted during his developement.

So one of his "selling points" is that he'd be easier to replace?

I don't want to make excuses for the guy, but Marino was one of the most clutch QBs of all-time that never really had a defense or a running game. I'd take him in a heartbeat. If Bray gets into a situation like Favre did with Holmgren, then he'll truly set the world on fire.

Honestly, yes.

If you draft a QB that is OK, you might give him a few more years.

Cdcox, give us an update based on the Raiders losing this game?

as of right this moment--about 48% 1st pick, 22% 2nd pick, 17% 3rd pick.

IF: we lose and the jags win (see also: shitty jets team), our odds go to:

65% 1st pick, 20% 2nd pick, 9% 3rd pick

IF we lose to the raiders along with the previous conditions:

93% 1st pick, 5% 2nd pick, 2% 3rd pick.

SO... the next two weeks, losing and hoping for just a BIT of help (COME ON, JAGS) and we all-but have the 1st pick sewn up.

Carolina and Oakland can't both finish 3-13.

In any possible scenario involving a bunch of teams tied at 3-13 we will draft no worse than 3rd.

It was just about to edit my post then I figured it would be pointed out pretty fast. No worse then 3rd. We can probably still snag a QB there but probably not Geno Smith.

Seems like there's some history behind teams usually losing in that circumstance.

Here's the weirdest stuff I can come up with for the final three weeks.

The Colts will win the AFC South if they win their final three games now. There are actually scenarios out there where they could be the #1 overall seed, but it would require the Pats to stumble against someone they shouldn't lose to. If they won out a #2 seed wouldn't be completely unrealistic given the other teams' schedules though.

The funniest thing though while playing with ESPN's playoff machine... Cleveland still technically has a shot if they win out. I was able to get them in as a 6 seed. Never going to happen with their schedule though. The really funny thing was the Chargers still have a chance too at 8-8. Still a complete longshot but really not completely unrealistic if the Bengals and Steelers slipped up. Nothing like Pittsburgh having to lose to Jacksonville would be required. Four more years of Norv!

If Indy wins out, they have a 16% chance of getting the number 1 seed and a 48% chance of getting the 2 seed.

If Cleveland wins out, they have a 20% shot of making the playoffs.

If San Diego wins out, they have a 10% chance of making the playoffs.

I figured you'd have the numbers. :) I guess those numbers aren't surprising. Although Cleveland's schedule is brutal, no way they win out. San Diego actually has a legit shot to win out with their schedule. It would require Cincy and Pittsburgh to stumble a bit though.

Still, I think Denver quitting will be a bigger concern for us than Indy. It's now set up where New England could win out and make Denver's last game pointless at 4:25 that last Sunday. The Niners winning in NE next week could actually help the Chiefs draft chances by keeping Denver in play.

I don't believe that. I have seen way too many things happen when this team did the opposite of what they should. Some of the wins last year are a perfect example. Beating GB, beating CHI because of a hail mary. They may lose because they don't give a shit about anything but I doubt a bunch of players are going to join together for the good of the franchise.

*Rolando McClain (still in the doghouse), not cleared to play.
*Safeties, RB Taiwan Jones & guys off the street playing cornerback.
*Coach Allen announced that he will use the last 3 games "to evaluate young talent."

Depends on what happens tonight. If NE wins they move back into the 2 spot. If they win out they could possibly clinch the 2 seed during their 1PM game week 17. The Chiefs and Broncos don't play until 4, so we might already know by then.

That's probably the most likely scenario. Houston's not out of the woods yet either though. Denver got whipped by both Houston and NE though, so they aren't going to be winning any tiebreakers.

The NFL utilizes “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 11-17. To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, the flexible scheduling decision for that Sunday may be made on six days notice.

Exactly. If Jacksonville bests Tennessee (actually possible) and we lose to Denver, we get the first pick each of the three days of the draft. That's a big advantage to be able to rearrange your board and get the guy you want and not have to go to plan b...especially in a draft that is very deep in a few positions of need for us (qb, DL, etc)

Then Denver has to beat us to get a first round bye. They'll play hard for that, IMO.

So ideally, Jacksonville beats Tennessee, New England beats Miami, and then Denver hangs us on a rusty nail in the afternoon...

Denver is not going to let up. It doesn't matter what New England does. Teams that rest starters lose in the playoffs. Super Bowls are about momentum, Denver going to pound us.

I could go for one of those

This may have already been said, but Denver can finish anywhere between the 1 seed and the 3 seed, so the game definitely is going to mean something to them regardless. Manning will play.

I really, really, really, really, really hope that Jacksonville wins so we can unleash our full rooting fury on the cheating Broncos.

It happens every year. It will come out tonight don't need to link it.

We had this conversation last week. You could only link two games.

I'm not buying it happens "every year"

I think the Texans and Pats play at 12:00.

If somehow they both loose, won't the Donks automatically lock up 1st seed?

Therefore the 3:00 game with the Chiefs wont matter.

Also not sure of the tiebreaker with Donks and Pats

The only way Denver has nothing to play for is a Pats loss and Houston win.

That is a possible scenario, and the main thing that ruins it all is those games are at noon before the Chiefs play.

Again, the league has become about getting hot at the right time.

The Broncos won't be resting anybody, even if they already have the #1 seed.

Denver could rest every starter on their team and still beat the Chiefs by 35 points.

That is the beauty of Romeo/Daboll/Quinn.
