I'm thinking of starting one for an organization I'm a part of. We need the money and we have a large base of potential donors with moderate incomes.

I'd like to raise $200K. I think we can have 5-6 members on the Capital Campaign board.

One idea I have is Employer Matching Contribution. We ask the potential donor to donate a certain amount and have his or her employer match that. I suppose we would send a letter to the employer in that case.

Any experiences to relate?

Heh. Yeah. It's simple. A letter should do it. Charity work is amazing fun. Best wishes.

I was thinking it would be largely letter based. How do you get people to donate? We have some things we can give, like:

1) $50 - Organization coffee mug/thermos
2) $100 - Organization shirt
3) $250 - Organization coffee mug and shirt (!!)
4) $500 - A year long subscription to our product, shirt, and mug
5) $1000 - All the above plus __(?)___
6) $2500 - All the above plus __(?)___
7) $5000 - All the above plus __(?)___

Is the employer matching contribution effective?

Kickstarter could do the trick for you.

Be as transparent as possible.
