View Full Version : Chiefs How Good Would We Be With RGIII Instead of Cassel?

Simple question. How good would we be right now if RGIII had fallen to our Poe pick and we drafted him?

Obviously he was never going to fall that far, so if you can get past that, answer the question.

Well Bowe would probably want to stay on this team if we had RG3 at QB and that's enough for me

We'd be a Super Bowl contender. If not this year, soon. Of course we'd probably want a new HC. If only we could demote Crennel back to DC and get a new HC....

heh, a better thread would be "How good would we be with Manning as our QB?"

I still think we would be 2-2 with Romeo as our HC. Dude is crap.

Daboll and Romeo would have probably ruint him

These types of threads would normally be so painful for me to consider that they make me want to pound my own dick with a sledgehammer to take my mind off the pain.

But not any more.

Geno Smith, fellas. We're getting a BETTER QB than RGIII, I think.

not very good. Because Cassel would still be our Starter while Cassel shows RGIII the ropes for the next season or so.

RGIII is fucking awesome. Its too early to say this, but what the hell, RGIII > Suck4Luck. The Chiefs should have sucked for RGIII. I think someone here started a thread about it. Whoever did was a damn wise person.

Better, but I've come to the realization in four games as to Romeo's ability as a head coach that the Browns fans got to witness for four years, so the rest of the team would still be a disaster...

"K, Rob, the key to any good fetal position is the timing. You have to go down at the FIRST sign of pressure. Sometimes you should anticipate it. If you're early, nobody will be mad. You're protecting the football after all. Also, when you fall remember to bend at the knees first thing before any other part collapses. That creates a shorter distance between you and the ground that you have to fall. Okay, now let's do some drills!"

Are we asking how important is the QB position with this???

Yes it's important. So, we'd be good.

- All of a sudden the D has hope if we get down by more than 10 pts
- WRs like Jon Baldwin look good
- Jamaal & Peyton Hillis have more room to run.
- Opposing Ds have to guard the field more than 15 yards deep.

We could go on & on

People really need to learn how to move on. RG3 was never an option for the Chiefs, so stop with these dumbass hypothetical scenarios that did not/were not going to happen even if teams 2-10 fell apart in mid air. The Rams wanted a trade partner that would give them a shot at Blackmon, Kalil, or Richardson. They were all going to be gone long before 11. It wasn't until the Rams left the door open for Jacksonville to trade up and steal Blackmon that they traded down to 14.

The QB who was in play for the Chiefs was Tannehill.

We would be so good we would be 8-0 right now. Our victories would be so impressive and dominating that we would be awarded 2 Ws every single game out of sheer respect for our awesomeness. We would be the first team to go 32-0 in the regular season.

RG3 is overrated as a QB but he has potential. This team has nothing of the kind.

Where would we have drafted if:

We didn't mount a huge comeback against Indy
Dexter didn't catch the fluke hail Mary to beat Chicago
We never claimed Orton and won two late games

BossChief

I'd be betting anyone that we win a playoff game with RG3.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but who on our coaching staff now or ever is going to develop a strong QB? Even if we drafted some great talent I have no faith in our system to groom them into a skilled nfl player. That being said, anything > what we have now.

If I was Brad Pitt I would have had Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie and making a play for Megan Fox. Stop it please. Accept there's a problem and start fixing it as opposed to playing the 'should have' game.

Probably be similar to the rams when they had Kurt Warner

Better defense. Having a competent QB who generates points and is able to take a LOT of pressure off the defense.

Cassel is leaving his fucking team out to fucking dry.

That's part of out problem....

Time of Poss yesterday was like 37 mins to 23 Our defense is not good at all especially defensive backfield , and then we you can't get them off the field and they don't punt a single time all day that means they are gassed....

Just adding in RGIII's running ability would be insane. Jamaal Charles and RGIII in the same backfield would present so many problems. Imagine RGIII scrambling around, and Charles going to an open area.

Flip.

40 yards.

There's almost zero potential for sandlot plays with Cassel. RGIII is great at that shit.

And that's just in addition to RGIII being able to chuck it down field, being more accurate, having a stronger arm, etc.

For fuck's sake, he's a ROOKIE and he's averaging 8.6 YPA, and completing 70 percent of his passes.

Too bad the other indian tribe got him.

We would have been awful because we would have had to give up soooooooooo many picks to get him. Those are apparently more valuable than a franchise QB. I mean Dorsey and Albert are due for new contracts soon, how do we replace them without those first round picks? Remember pre draft how some were saying giving up that many picks would set us back years. Well, we are 1-3 and staring at the distinct possibility of 1-4 if not 1-5 by the bye week even though we "kept" our picks.

RGIII is the real deal and we missed out on him. Some think Geno is almost as good if not as good. Hopefully we don't make the same mistake twice and trade whatever it takes for him unless we somehow end up finishing bad enough that he is sitting there waiting for us.

Those rams teams set NFL offensive records and won a SB and went to 2. Some rookie QB isn't going to do that.

Getting RGIII and having no picks left is obviously better than not getting RGIII and getting bad picks. But neither strategy is what you want.

Getting a franchise QB is the strategy this franchise has needed and failed to address for decades. It IS the strategy you want, even if you have to give up a few draft picks. There isn't a single entire Pioli draft class that I wouldn't trade for RGIII.

With the changes in salary for high slotted rookies you really have to question the committment of some NFL franchises to not go after something good and paying a little more in draft compensation to get there, but it's still a new process not yet fully embraced.

Who was the last first round QB this franchise drafted? Blackledge? That was almost 30 years ago.

that's why you have to move up to the 2 spot to make sure you get him. If I were a chiefs GM I would give up anybody and any draft picks short of Jamal Charles and Hali to get RGIII. Just about everyone else is expendable.

His contract makes him that much more valuable. He's smart, accurate, has a huge arm, can run a bit, and is a leader. Yet, there are folks on here that didn't want the Chiefs to draft him. I wish I was kidding.
