View Full Version : Chiefs Go on record: How many more starts for Cassel this season?

How many more starts do you think Cassel will get this season?

saphojunkie
10-01-2012, 05:53 PM
One.

Why the hell would they throw Brady Quinn out there to be massacred by Baltimore? Let Cassel get intercepted twice with three fumbles on six sacks.

Cassel will get injured - real or fake - and Brady will be named the starter during the bye week.

You know honestly I don't think he cares if he plays or not. I think they're making a big deal out of this when all he would rather do is go into the fetal position.

mr. tegu

I figure if Cassel starts after the bye week then he will at least get three games after that. That is the reason for the strange range. Also, the bye week will be after two more starts.

Poll fail.

There needs to be a "12" option without the "+".

This team ain't making the playoffs. And I want to be able to vote "he's going to start the rest of this miserable season" without having my name appear next to LA Chieffan's.

He's about due for an unbelievable start to a game followed by a mysterious injury that sidelines him for the season ruining our playoff hopes. It's okay though, the franchise passing leader through four games will be back next year.

I voted 10-11, because that's probably realistic.

I should have voted 12+ because that is way more realistic. He will be our starter next season. We'll draft that LT with the #1 pick overall and be in Cassel purgatory forever and ever and ever and ever.

Unless it's a career ending injury, like a broken neck, the worst thing that could happen to us is if Cassel gets injured. It bought him more time from last year and it would definitely buy him another year at least.

12+ unless he gets taken out by a DL. Chrome dome will never admit his mistake, which in his eyes he would be doing by pulling him.

Ray Lewis will rape him next week, and Mark Barron will break him the week after that. Quinn will finish out the season, we'll get a new GM/head coach, and finally draft a franchise QB in April.

Romeo is already opening the door to a transition... and then leaving the door to a transition back in case Quinn sucks worse...

http://www.kansascity.com/2012/10/01/3843260/crennel-sticks-with-cassel-as.html

“At some point, as a coach, you go through and you see what’s happening in the game and how a guy is reacting and how he’s responding to what’s happening in the game,” Crennel said. “If you feel he’s inept, constantly making poor decisions, bad choices, then that’s when you move on from him and give someone else a chance.”

“With the quarterback, it’s always a touchy subject because that position is a special kind of position,” Crennel said in acknowledging the situation. But then he said, “It’s not difficult. The starter is still the starter if you just take him out for a series. You can put him back into the game. It doesn’t say you can’t put him back in the game when you take a guy out.”

Fuck him.

What a fucking pussy.

If Quinn looks like shit, you bench him for somebody else and if they don't have any confidence in Stanzi they should cut him and sign a vet like David Garrard right now if they want to make the ultimate fail and try to salvage an already lost season.

First, The receivers were the problem...big free agent and a first and second round pick used to upgrade position group
Then, The line was the problem...2second rounders and a third rounder along with a premier free agent signing used to fix.
No tight ends...trade up in the third round and sign a good vet to fix
The defense...3 first round picks (2 being top 5) a third rounder and numerous other picks used to fix as well as multiple free agent signings.
The coaches...Gailey, Muir, Weis and Haley were all jettisoned by failing to "fix the quarterback"

WHEN WILL THESE IDIOTS REALIZE THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE POS UNDER CENTER AND NOT THE SURROUNDING PIECES?

When they are mathematically out of contention of the AFCW race. Considering the weakness of this division combined with the possibility that the Chiefs may pull off a couple of "fluke" victories as they always do....I can see this taking a few games more than what we'd all like. I'm guessing 7-9.

Why would he give more money to a fucking loser?

It makes no sense.

It looks incredibly stupid to extend Pioli at this juncture.

Clark must know the Chiefs are a laughingstock around the league by now, and it's Pioli's fault.

For fuck's sake, yesterday Kevin Harlan was quoting Pro Football Focus stats about how much Cassel sucks.

Who knows?

He's not gonna get pulled. Pioli won't allow it to happen. His own arrogance will get in the way as usual.

But I do think there is a good chance that Matt Cassel will create his own death bed by getting hurt at some point during the season.

I see him taking a major pounding this year only because half the pressures or sacks will be his fault.

Count Alex's Wins

The thing is, there is always a convenient excuse for Pioli to use with Casshole.

Atlanta loss? Defense.

Buffalo loss? We couldn't run the ball, defense sucked ass, etc.

Chargers loss? Pass protection. Defense sucked. Receivers dropped two passes.

Pioli's ego is the size of Mt. Everest, he doesn't really want to see Cassel benched in the end, so he can make all kinds of excuses not to do it, because he doesn't want to be wrong.

Cassel will not be benched unless he fucks Mrs. Pioli.
