Newer techniques involve crashing a car into an apple store to obtain the product you desire.

I had a major problem with a DOA flatscreen with newegg, it was like pulling teeth to get a replacement..Took me MONTHS to get a replacement. I will never use them again.

Interesting.

I opened this thread to post the below...what a strange coincidence. :thumb:

One thing I will say about Amazon:

We have returned literally DOZENS of items to Amazon for various reasons, some of which aren't Amazon's fault.

We've NEVER had an issue with them. They're friendly, courteous, and helpful.

I've ordered quite a few things cheaply through Amazon and never had to return them, but it's nice to know.

I had a problem with an LED TV from Amazon. They shipped the replacement via two day shipping when I called them - I hadn't even had the broken one picked up by UPS yet and the new one was off to me. This obviously was a high dollar item but I got the same great service as if this had been something cheap to replace. I was only without a tube for a day or two. Amazon was great to me.

Love Amazon. Bought some thumb drives for the kids for school last year. Took forever to get here and I have prime. Called them up, and they sent me a new order. Arrived overnight. About a week later I got the original order. Called them back and they told me to keep them. No charge. That is service!

We bought a 16.5 cu.ft. deep freeze from them for well below retail. They delivered it, unpacked it, plugged it in, and TRANSFERRED FOOD FROM MY OLD DEEP FREEZE INTO THE NEW ONE.

A couple of days later, we found some small dents in the door. It was sold as "new" (we've bought "no box" and "scratch and dent" items before) so we called them. They took 40% off the already lower-then-retail price.

If you'd prefer to buy locally, http://salescircular.com/ is a good place to see what specials there are at various stores in your area.

We got a great deal on an ASUS laptop at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Bought it with my ASUS tablet and got 30 months free financing. We'll pay them both off way before then.
