View Full Version : Chiefs Assuming we get our QB, what do you want our 2nd and 3rd round picks to be?

As of right now we have the #1 overall pick, so we would obviously take Geno with our new GM (please God), but we also have the first pick in the 2nd and 3rd round.

What positions should do you feel we should spend them on?

Note: this is assuming we keep Bowe

It'd be nice to have an elite TE to help our new young QB out. FS is a need too I believe. We'll also need more help along the defensive line for certain. With Bowe gone, we'll need another WR.

Assuming Bowe is gone, I'd still rather draft a potential elite TE. That would help a rookie QB out a ton. Surely there's a WR we can pick up in free agency.

Who are potential free agent WRs next summer?
Who are potential elite TEs coming in the draft?

LB.......

fuck it, we need help everywhere....this team is nowhere near being as good as people think. Shit we could use a TE. Moeaki has had a horrible sophomore slump (being that he didn't play last season this is really his 2nd season, 1st under a new scheme). Who knows w/ Boss.

Our Dline is crap.....let's face it. Unless Poe by some miracle turns into a monster we're still fucked at that area of the defense. How much is Tyson Jackson making next season? He probably won't be resigned either.

Berry hasn't had a good season (really no one has) and the depth behind Berry fucking blows. Same w/ CB position. Arenas is terrible and so is Brown and Daniels.

I think it's tough to evaluate guys like Baldwin right now. He grew up in a dysfunctional household and may just need some guidance. It's too bad there isn't a coach out there somewhere that's good with developing wide receivers and offense overall.......[sigh]

I would pick up 2 QB's because when Pioli is picking, he will somehow fuck up the 1st one and he is prone to picking up players who get injured. CB/S/ILB/OT are also important. I think with a decent QB throwing, Moeaki, Maneri and Boss should be good enough for TE (although a Jimmy Graham or Rob Gronkowski type would go a long way to helping the new QB out)

Open the season with baldwin as the #1, rookie as the no 2, put dexter in the slot

Flowers is the #1, and play the rookie at 2 with brown in the nickel.

Draft a ilb to replace belcher or let him sit and play next year. I like belcher. I think hes solid but he just doesnt make plays

Chances are if we draft and start a rookie qb that there will be growing pains so we should take the herm approach and let the rookies play.

Also, cut/trade(lol) cassel and quinn, go out and get a cheap veteran like garrard or campbell to back up geno and let stanzi stay as the 3. Its too early to give up on him.

Let draughn stay as the #2 rb but go out and get a cheap thumper rb

Cut moeaki and keep boss.

Let bailey or pituitoa take over for dorsey

I'm going to hold off. Let's say we are picking 4th like the Browns were last draft. And in order to get Smith, we have to move up. Just like the Browns needed to do last draft to get RGIII. The Browns said no... too expensive.

Not for me. If I need to use those picks to move up to get Smith... they are gone. To hell with we have too many holes to fill on this team. Get the fucking QB this year. And not just any fucking QB. The best damn one on the board. And right now that is Smith IMO.

Obviously, we'll take a RB in the second. :p

SNR
10-18-2012, 08:09 AM
If Poe even sniffs Haloti Ngata-type potential the way Scott and Romeo thought he would, I think we'll be fine on the defensive line. Yeah, switching to the 1-gap will require a change of personnel that's gotta happen anyway (I really don't see us re-signing Dorsey) but having that one ultra-dominant uncontrollable force on the line really frees up the other two guys. I like what I see out of Powe right now. No clue if he's suited for the 1-gap either.

Ah, who am I kidding. We're looking at another two years and probably another first round draft pick pissed away to rebuild that defensive line if we want to switch schemes.

But we're not wasting our pick on the line this year, that's for sure. That's Geno's pick.

I agree that we need a real leader at MLB. We are missing that on defense. DJ is a good player but not really a leader imo. If we could get a first round QB and the MLB from Notre Dame with a pick we got for Bowe, we would be set.

I really feel like our biggest need aside from a QB is leadership.

Sorry but I don't see a rookie coming in to be the vocal leader of a defense.
Maybe in year 2 or 3 when they have been given a chance to prove themselves, but not as a rook.

I like Da'Rick Rogers, WR Tennesee Tech, as a 2nd or 3rd round WR. He was the best WR at the University of Tennesee until he was kicked off the team for smoking weed last summer. He was way better than Patterson and Hunter.

This guy will be the Janoris Jenkins / Justin Houston of this draft. He will remind you of Julio Jones. Here's a link to the highlights from 2011.
