Not sure why, but the chargers private jet just landed at the downtown airport. Looks like they came from Tampa.

I'm lucky enough to work in a building downtown with a view over the runways at KMKC. I probably wouldn't have noticed them at all had they not hit the thrust reversers a bit hard. The downtown airport is pretty quiet normally, but every once in a while, a loud military jet will fly over which is a cool sight.

Pavlovian conditioning made me look out the window and then I noticed a plane with a helmet painted on the tail. Checked the flight board for KMKC and they they were.

Funny that some teams block their tail numbers (Clark Hunt does) but others do not. Of course if you're flying around with a Chargers helmet on the tail it's not really subtle either.

Also, they have pick 2.15 (45 overall)

Is that enough for Albert?

:spock: He was 15th overall, now has 4 years of NFL experience, and he has proven to be a top 5 LT. It is not a guess or hope deal, like it would be with a draft pick.

I think it is a 1st and a 2nd, or no deal.

In fact, signing him to a long term deal is the only thing that makes sense, not trading him to a division opponent.

Yeah, and like I've seen over the past couple years, OT's tend to physically break down pretty early. A 2nd for maybe 3 good years of service? I don't trust it. We need to use our draft picks to rebuild our team. What's the point of using them to sign a name when our team isn't going anywhere for at least 3 years?

Because in your FO's mind they have a franchise QB with a limited window of opportunity. Might be a few key spots from competing, such as...

LT, OG, WR, OLB/Pass Rusher, DT, CB

If you can't get the top3 OT, but you might get Warmack or Cooper @11, flip #45 for Albert, take the OG @11, and fill the others thru remainder of draft and try to put the pieces together in the next couple years. And if KC demands another mid round pick next year for the cornerstone on the O-Line, do it. Yea, DO IT!! :)

I don't think our new front office thinks that Rivers is in our plans much past the next couple years.

I don't pay that much attention to the Chargers, at all, and I am used to all the pundits predicting them to win the division. I wasn't aware they were in that bad of shape, but thanks for the good news! :D You make a good point!

Alex Smith has also proven that he takes a team nowhere. At least Phillip Rivers can throw for 4000 yards while Alex Smith struggles in a season to try and get passed 2800.
