I've been getting into this whole cigar gig lately. Seems like every time I drink I run to the store to buy a pack of backwoods.

My favorite cigar are Rocky Patels, these are incredible and they burn for a long time. Very smooth. My buddy and I went to Hungry Hunter and order one. We started smoking and he recommended Ashton's. I had a gift card to this cigar place and decided to use it. I bought one Rocky Patel and Ashton. What are some good cigars you enjoy. I'm wanting to try different ones. I like a cigar that'll last and usually a mild flavor. Any suggestions?

I recently had a Flor de Las Antillas, which Cigar Aficionado rated No. 1 for 2012, and it was indeed very good. I think I paid $6 for it.

When I first started smoking cigars a few years ago,
I used to smoke RP 1990's and 1992's exclusively because as far as I was concerned nothing else was as good.

I've since branched out quite a bit and have tried many cigars. The best cigar I have ever smoked was the La Aroma Di Cuba Mi Amor. In my limited experience, nothing else even compares. I do have to say that my Cuban cigar experience is limited only to Cohibas (Siglio VI and Behike).

Great recommendations. Love all of those you mentioned.

I would also add Ghurka and Perdomo Lot 23 to my list of great cigars.

I go to a cigar shop and have a box of Alec Bradley Black Markets. He's the best man. His cigars are awesome.

The two you have pictured are my favorites, actually. Not a huge cigar smoker, but when I do it is a rocky Patel or Ashton. Been traveling to Honduras for work recently and got into the rocky patels while there. When in Rome, right?

I've been a cigar smoker for 30 years. I started smoking Arturo Fuente and Te Amo's until I discovered P.G. Cigars, Paul Garmirian, in the mid 80's.

They draw great, have a nice range of flavors, are well reviewed in Cigar Aficionado, hand rolled by Davidoff and burn nice and even.

http://www.pgcigars.com/

Their website has a GREAT size chart for all the newbies to understand length and ringsize along with types.

I'm very fortunate that the founder and his son have their HQ store in McLean VA and I stop in frequently to smoke and shoot the shit with them.

Great cigars and smoked by Clinton, Bush, former CIA director George Tenet and most high end politicos here in the DC area.

They run from $8-25 a cigar on average.

Actually, yes. And while sipping on crown and playing black ops. It was my 40th birthday present. If you have the means, I highly suggest it.

It was an Ashton by the way

Rocky Patel white label is a nice Connecticut wrapper. Great cigar and best of the RP brand in my opinion.

I love sun grown stuff. Fuente Rosado sun grown are good, Flor de las Antillas are fantastic!

Alec Bradley black market and Tempus are great. Oliva V, and Master Blends 3 are killer sticks too.

My favorite mild-medium cigar is Alec Bradley American Sun Grown.

Also, around Father's Day look for Opus X and Fuente Anejo. Hard to find but amazing.

Rocky Patel's best stick is the Renesance or however you spell it.

I tend to like stronger Cigars, my favorites are the Gurkha Titan, Cohiba Black and Man o War Ruination. The nub double maduro is also really good but it's a short cigar and always ends too soon.

If you are just getting into them I'd reccomend going with some samplers till you find what you like.

I started out with http://cigar.com and http://cigarsinternational.com. If you sign up for their mailing lists they have pretty good deals every once in a while.

just make sure that when you order online that you don't get into that monthly cigar international magazine that I some how signed up for.

Fuck that, find a great cigar shop with a knowledgable owner who can teach you about cigars. They can hear your tastes, stuff you've liked, and point you in the right direction to new stuff.

Also, one must smoke a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro chisel.

I've ordered boxes from Cigar International before, but I always feel like ordering online is more of a long term deal. You're probably going to want to let those bad boys sit in your humidor for at least a month before you start smoking them. I'd recommend just going to a local cigar shop and trying different things until you start hitting shit that you like. Once you do that, you can start getting them by the box from online sources.

I've never had a Perdomo Lot 23. That's going to be my 1st smoke of the year now. Hopefully we are going to get a warm weekend sometime soon. I like to smoke a cigar on the last weekend of every month during the warm weather time.

WRONG

F. March 31 Sexual Encounter

On Sunday, March 31, 1996, according to Ms. Lewinsky, she and the President resumed their sexual contact. (264) Ms. Lewinsky was at the White House from 10:21 a.m. to 4:27 p.m. on that day. (265) The President was in the Oval Office from 3:00 to 5:46 p.m. (266) His only call while in the Oval Office was from 3:06 to 3:07 p.m. (267) Mrs. Clinton was in Ireland. (268)

According to Ms. Lewinsky, the President telephoned her at her desk and suggested that she come to the Oval Office on the pretext of delivering papers to him. (269) She went to the Oval Office and was admitted by a plainclothes Secret Service agent. (270) In her folder was a gift for the President, a Hugo Boss necktie. (271)

In the hallway by the study, the President and Ms. Lewinsky kissed. On this occasion, according to Ms. Lewinsky, "he focused on me pretty exclusively," kissing her bare breasts and fondling her genitals. (272) At one point, the President inserted a cigar into Ms. Lewinsky's vagina, then put the cigar in his mouth and said: "It tastes good." (273) After they were finished, Ms. Lewinsky left the Oval Office and walked through the Rose Garden. (274)

Flor de las Antillas are terrific. Also, mostly anything by Carlos Toraņo. Anyone who smokes Acids lose points in my book. They're all flavored, but done so in such a way that you can't appreciate the cigar itself. All you're getting is a bunch of artificial flavoring and sugar. If you must smoke a flavored cigar I would recommend the CAO Flavors series.

It's nice out finally, where do you guys enjoy your cigars at?

Or better yet, where's the best place you've ever smoked a cigar?

Mine would be on a beach at the Petrol Developers of Oman Club in Muscat, Oman, overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Smoking a Montecristo #4 (Cuban of course).

Macanudos are the best but expensive. Rocky Patel Connecticut 1999 really good. Lotsa other good stuff. Gurkha, Arturo Fuente, etc.

I get mine at Thompson cigars out of Tampa. They have good sampler packs.

I'm a fan of their samplers as well. Most recently picked up the 90 Rate Dynamic Dozen. 2 Flor de las Antillas and 2 Brick House makes the sampler right there, not to mention the Cusano 18's, Aging Room, and Carlos Torano Vault.

Except those SOBs swapped out my Aging Rooms for some other piece of crap "of equal value." I was a bit upset by that.
