“This scares me to my core. I’m shaken. This was the first political campaign where I knew and cared about the candidate before they got into politics. I saw first-hand how her opponents smeared her with outrageous accusations I knew to be untrue,” he said on his show Wednesday night. “And that’s made me wonder if other campaigns have done this as well.”

Do you really think your sister is the only person this happened too, Stephen??? Or is it you only care now because it was your sister?

“I am angry, and for once that doesn’t make me happy,” he said. Shortly thereafter, Colbert said he thought his sister had won “because CNN called it for Sanford.”

Hmmm, where have we heard this tactic before and were you of the same opinion then a you are now???

It is satire. It's a joke. He plays a buffoonish right-wing talk show host who is acting shocked about unfair smear politics. That's the joke--because he should know better than anyone because he does it everyday on his show (while playing the right-wing nut).

I'm really not suprised at all that you don't "get it."

Is pete seriously unaware that Stephen Colbert is a comedian who engages in satire? This seems like a new low.

Yep, it is on there.

Pete--this is a great example of why you shouldn't trust Drudge for news. They present a bit from a comedy show just as they do real "news."

Between the bullshit stories and the joke stories, any accurate ones are pretty tought to pick out. And if you can't tell the difference, this thread is what happens.

It's guys like Colbert that have driven me to get all my news from this site called The Onion.

This segment on Colbert was really good last night, addressing our country's hyper-partisanship.

It's cool. Pete will return and tell us he knew it was satire, and he's just being satirical too.

Are you referring to Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, PhD, DFA?

I'll see you in HEALTH!!

Trying to explain things to pete is the stupidest thing I've heard all day.
