The most famous case of child killer in England is the murder of James Bulger, committed by the 10 years old Robert Thompson and Jon Venables in 1993. The killers served ten years and got out in 2001.

According to Wiki, Jon Venables' life is not that glamorous after released:

It was alleged that he had downloaded 57 indecent images of children over a 12-month period to February 2010, and allowed other people to access the files through a peer-to-peer network. Venables faced two charges under the Protection of Children Act 1978.
