The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up three randomly selected scenes from the nomination thread.

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.


Sorry. We're doing a G-rated version of this scene, because otherwise nipple always wins and then eventually the tournament becomes a porn tournament.

My votes:

#1 - True Romance. I don't understand the love of this scene other than the fact that it includes both Hopper and Walken. It wins this heat for me, though, and overall it's a fine scene.

#2 - Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I like the nudity. I like it a lot. But the scene's not really memorable other than the nudity, and that doesn't win in this tourney.

#3 - Natural Born Killers. Ugh. It's well done, but it's not my gig.

A BLISTERING, SCORCHING heat... yowza, some all time faves in here... but for all around, scene for scene impact, Hopper telling the mob to go pound sand with a little history lesson included is simply a masterpiece.

Only Tarantino could write something like that... "you? heh... you're part eggplant!".

Hopper vs Walken? fuhgeddaboudit.

I imagine that NBK scene had to be a nightmare for Rain Man. Even I thought it was kind of dumb. Oliver Stone: Just because you CAN do a weird camera angle, go from color to B&W, and do all kinds of other oddball shit, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.

I find this hilarious. I've been hearing how it was destined to win, and right now it's headed toward the same fate as the Ferris Bueller Seurat scene and the Young Frankenstein Ritz scene.

I saw this heat coming up and thought it might be interesting. I figured that Phoebe could put up a fight, but I didn't think she would be pulling a 1969 Jets thing.
