I think we'll win. But if we can't bring pressure against them, Justin Hunter is going to make this secondary his bitch. Wright will as well though I think that Chris Owens will handle him better than our perimeter corners will handle Hunter.

I see no reason why we wont beat the Titans at home in the opener. Sure you can throw in the Beefalos 2011 but that's and old AFL rivalry who has a case of the ass for us.

The Chiefs have a history of getting their asses handed to them at home in the opener.

And the Titans/Oilers vs Chiefs/Texans is not an old AFL rivalry. Bud did take the team colors that Lamar wanted.

The Titans are probably 9-7/10-6 team this year.

We lost to every winning football team we played last year (save the Eagles, who didn't have Foles in at the time), so, yeah.

Shit we almost lost to the fucking Titans.

i find it hard to call a team that uses a combo of Shonn Greenne, Dexter McCluster and Bishop Sankey a good team. That is the worst RBBC in the league by far.

Our luck the Chiefs career day defense will pop out and put Bishop Sankey on the NFL path to stardom

No Bowe or Stephenson on offense.

Crap CB's and Oline as a whole. Our corners can't jam or cover.

Not sure how we'll stop the pass against anyone. And Alex Smith is gonna be running for his life every passing snap.

If I were the Titans I'd make Smith throw outside the hash marks.

I hope we win. It's gonna be tough though...even when it may seem like it shouldn't be, I totally expect a close game. Need to all ride the Charles train these first few games.

As bad as our D has looked this preseason TN's is just as bad. Not to mention this is TN's first year in the 3 - 4 and they are still trying to put the right pieces in the right place. Just think of KC the first year we switched to a 3 - 4.

Also, TN's secondary has as many holes in it as KC's does. Only diff is that we have EB and TN has nobody even close.

This is going to be an ugly game but KC pulls it out.

Very likely, but we might beat the Chargers, Andy's record coming off of bye weeks. I think we should beat the Dolphins, but our record in Florida is pretty bad.
It sure is hard to see anything more than 2-4 out of those first 6 games as being realistic. If we go 3-3 or better then maybe there would be some credence behind those opinions that Andy held something back and all that jazz.

Supposedly Frankie Hammond Jr. is starting in Bowe's spot because of the suspension, so I'd like to see him get some looks, he's had a very good pre-season and despite our lack of big names guys at the WR spot, I think we've got a pretty talented group for the semi-WCO that we run.

Both defenses suck and the Titans have a better offense. I see a loss here. Stop disrespecting Jake Locker. Yeah dude hasn't proved much on the field due to injuries and such. But look at what he did at the start of last year and this preseason. He's got talent just needed time to develop some.

Check out the fade he tossed to Hunter a game or two ago. Absolute perfection. And he can throw outside the numbers unlike Mr. Smith.

How do they have a better offense?

They have Dexter McCluster, Bishop Sankey, and Shonn Greene at running back. The only one with any "in space" moves is Sankey, and our linebacking group is literally the tops in the NFL, and our big guys up front are looking to improve a solid run defense year from last year.

You have Kendall Wright as the only playmaker in the WR spot, and Delanie Walker who I think is one of the most underrated TE's in the game.

This all adds up to the Titans getting 8 in the box on them all day long unless they are smart and try to get us in nickel/dime scenarios to exploit Wright/Hunter, that's literally their only chance in this game.

Offensively for us, we have Charles who on his own is enough to beat the Titans if we can even manage to block half as well as last year, and then we've got DAT to spell him or come in together providing huge mismatches, allowing a guy like Kelce to get 1 on 1 coverage in a soft zone. Guy's going to have a monster year if we can work this twin TE setup like we should.

I don't see us pouring it on them at all, but I doubt the Titans have a chance in this game, and I think we're (you) are giving too much credit to the Titans key positions and not enough to our defensive front 7.

Yes I watch the games, you can find me in 117/31 with my Jersey on year after year.

Look, I get what you're saying. Hemingway hasn't produced much because he doesn't play often, and therefore he must suck, right? But truth be told, so long as we have Bowe/Avery in there, we're likely to also have Fasano in there, which leaves the option of a third receiver, Hemingway/McCluster (last year) or a Fullback (Sherman).

The guy's actually a pretty good red zone target, as we've seen from most of his play, and he's going to make this team like I claimed he would last year when everyone said he'd be cut. Now, if we actually get to use him this year, I'll be happy and he WILL produce, but get your head out of your own ass on Nate Washington, if Hemingway played the snaps Washington did, he'd probably have twice as many catches as good ol butterfingers has.

He doesn't play much because he's dumber than a box of rocks. Multiple times last year, Alex Smith had to show him where to line up. That kind of stuff costs you time outs or worse, delay of game penalties.

I've been watching Hemingway play since his days at Michigan. I can assure you that he absolutely does suck. He's got a ton of physical talent and absolutely nothing upstairs. He's never going to amount to anything at the NFL level because it's just too complicated for him.

Done deal, put me on your ignore list so I don't have to see your nut swinging replies about Nate fucking Washington.

The guy has 9 seasons under his belt, only 1 season with 1,000 yards. Never had an 80+ catch season, never had a 10+TD season.

Bowe, on the other hand, the guy you think is worse than Washington........

In the league for 7 years, 3 1,000 yard seasons (almost a 4th he was 5 yards shy), 2 80+ catch season, 1 10+ TD season.

Hemingway, by the way, caught ONE fewer touchdown pass last year than Nate Washington.

Only two jerseys I rep is Charles and DJ.

You know who's better than Junior Hemingway?

Dexter McCluster.

In fact, Dexter McCluster is better than any WR on our roster not named Avery this Sunday.

You know, I liked McCluster, a lot, and everyone here seemed to loathe the guy, but he played every position we asked of him, played with a lot of heart, and he's actually one of the most down to earth Chiefs Players I've had the pleasure of meeting. That aside, I think DAT is a complete replacement for McCluster in almost every way, including receiving. While he might not have the better hands, he'll be able to do more with his touches, especially in space.

Despite that, I think Hemingway is a much better receiver than McCluster, and I hope we get to see that this year. We didn't use him much last year, but when we did we used him for exactly what he's built for, red zone targets.

I'm also hoping Albert Wilson makes the roster because I believe he's a much better option from the slot than McCluster ever could be.

Will it really matter if the Chiefs beat the Titans?

Nope. All it will do is **** draft position.

Yeah it matters. Just like cohesion matters to the Oline so does having success on the football field.
If we can beat the Titans and the Dolphins, i know our record in FL, then get an Andy Reid win after the bye week, Chargers we could be 3-3 through the tough early stretch of the season and somewhere in here getting players back. We then play teams like the Rams, Bills, Jets. We could be 6-3 going into the Seattle game and then the Faid twice within a month while only getting better as the season progresses.
I don't have a good feeling that this is the way things will go down, but I am not going to give up all hope just yet. I do not want the first overall pick in the draft via a 2 win season either but I am fearful of a bad season and a loss to either the Titans or the Dolphins and we are likely on our way to a 5 or 6 win season that would put us high enough in the draft.

I think this is the issue with making such conclusions based on the box scores. KC had some late quarter runs that were good and will skew the consistent troubles they had early on in grinding out 4-5 yds on 1st and 2nd down. It just wasn't happening enough. Too many 3rd and longs due to stuffed runs on the early downs.

Run blocks should still be a very real concern.

True story. In the first game this team looked like it had picked up where it had left off (run blocking) from the playoff game as far as Knile's carries were concerned, then it started to regress through the pre-season.

While Knile isn't the most patient ball carrier and certainly isn't the safest when carrying the rock, the guy is very good, or was very good last year, at making 3-4 yard carries turn into a few extra yards. What I've seen most of the pre-season so far is making 2-3 yard carries out of collisions at the line of scrimmage.

Once we get into some 2WR, 2TE 1RB sets though, I don't imagine we'll have huge concerns from the ground game.

Accomplished my ass, Nate's best years are like Bowe's worst years half the time. I'm tired of people touting Nate Washington like he's a big fucking deal, he's practically undraftable in fantasy football if that gives you any idea of his truly "accomplished value".

NOBODY is "touting" Nate Washington.

ROFL

You're touting Junior Hemingway.

Apparently, the Titans are, . . . the Chiefs

Like I've said for years, an NFL football team is like a carbureted engine, it runs like shit until that moment when you get timing and spark in synch.

The Titans are a mediocre team firing on all cylinders at the moment. The Chiefs are a mediocre team cunt punting itself into oblivion at the moment.

Also the Titans were pretty much running the same D we were. Pollard is a really good tackler.

Interesting Todd Haley benched DJ for not being fiery and loud enough but cut Pollard for being Fiery and loud...
