Could it happen?

Is MLB ready for it?

Is Missouri ready for it?

Is CP ready for it? Are you ready for it?

I lived in KC in '85. It was a great year to be a Royals fan.

The Royals have to show they can win a game that matters.

Nope. I used to see him all the time when I still lived in Waterloo.

I love your optimism, but, yeah, tap the brakes a bit.

I vote for a Royals/Pirates series.

All I want is for them to beat the A's tomorrow and get a legitimate playoff series.
Why the fuck the wildcard isn't a best of three is beyond me.

HopefullyYou don't deserve to win if you are dependent on an umpires call. I never blamed him for the loss. Jack Clark dropping an easy foul ball was big. There were other lost moments too. We had game 7 chance too. They were the better ball club on 4 days.

Twas just a joke.

My dad is a Royals fan and went to game 6 of the 85 Series. I get all kinds of shit from him over it.

Walking out of the K this summer after the Royals had won (I was 10-0 in live Cards games) I had some dude ask me if that loss reminded me of '85. I was like 10 months old in October of 1985? How the hell should I know?

I don't hate the Royals, but Royals fans sure do hate us.

This years games' were quite meaningful. Beating up on the Jr. league this year helped us into the postseason. :)

I fucking hate the expanded playoff game. It is ridiculous that you can have a five game lead over the next best wild card team, and once in the playoffs, you essentially give both teams the same record and make them play head to head for the last playoff spot. It completely negates multiple regular season games for a one-off.

Terrible, terrible, terrible rule.

As a Royals fan in St. Louis, who also likes the Cards a great deal through osmosis, I see no downside.

See????? That wasn't so bad, was it?

This Royals team reminds me of what the White Sox did in '05. They would get behind in a game, but always found a way to come back and win. Didn't get upset, just squared their shoulders and took back the lead.

I say they got the Angels right where they want 'em.

I just hope the Cardinals can do their part.

It also goes through Frederick MD. Let's get ready for the Frederick Keys... oh wait they're single A. They actually have everyone jingle their keys during the 7th inning stretch. Ugh.

DinnyIt would be great to see Molina go up against the speed of the Royals. Best running game agaisnt the best catcher would be a great subplot.

First Cardinal fan Ive ever seen admit this. Orta was thrown out at 3rd and didnt score anyway. That blown call had nothing to do with the outcome of the game or the series. To this day Im still baffled why it was ever a controversy.

I was in St. Louis a couple of weeks ago, got to tour the stadium. It was very cool, so much baseball history. Supposed to have dinner on the field, but it was raining off and on, so we ate inside. Got to take some bp underneath the stadium.

For our tour, we had an excellent guide, ex school teacher, very knowledgeable.

Would not talk about 1985....

I don't think I could mentally handle another I-70 series. It would be such a miserable thing for KC to lose that World Series. Miserable for generations of kids who would get "2014!" drunkenly yelled into their faces just because they were wearing a Royals cap. If the '85 series outcome wasn't really able to keep Cardinals fans' massively faux-humble egos in check then a '14 series win against the Royals would be a free-reign invitation for all sorts of obnoxious behavior.

Because on average your fan base is the most smug and obnoxious fanbase. Yanks and redox fans are friendlier.

If they were like most packer fans they would not get the hate.

He means they have to close this out tomorrow night. They have won big games but this is the biggest yet. What happened Tuesday is no longer relevant. They have to define themselves again tomorrow.

You cannot give the Angels any room to breathe.

Yes it's easy to reply to that today. When I posted that they were floundering after having a chance to win the division. At that point they gave no indication that they could.

The Royals were at the least an underdog, if not a big one, in '85?

I assume IF (I am saying IF) there is an I-70 series this year, the Royals would be the underdog, right?

The Royals seem to be on an English muffin so far. Regardless of probability, an I-70 series is still possible.

It's a good year to be a MLB fan in Missouri.
