Fanaika, JFC.

A guy could stand there and probably do the same.

We knew Fanaika sucks. He was in only because of injuries. Nothing to see here in regards to that turd.

For the most part, the numbers confirm what I saw during the game. Although, I did not expect Morse's numbers to look that good.

I sure hope we don't cut a promising kid like LDT and keep Fanaika just so Dorsey can save face.

He's shown that he is not afraid to admit he was wrong and cut bait. Not sure why that would be a concern for you.

What have you seen that makes LDT promising? He was a late round pick that has completely sucked when on the field.

Bullshit.

that's a pretty impressive line from Morse, a rookie, that he can hang with Grubbs/Stephenson.

I guess that's why he's playing over Kush, just far more talented from day 1. Which is very rare from a Chiefs rookie.

Honestly, coming from Canadian COLLEGE football competition (not even CFL-level competition) at a different position, he's made a lot of progress.

The Chiefs can't afford to NOT see him through the rest of his development to see what turns out for him.

He's already playing 1000 times better than Fanaika, anyway. If you believe in keeping the best players on the 53 man roster, you have zero reason to pick Fanaika over the better, younger, cheaper player with a potential ceiling as high as any young offensive lineman in the NFL.

LDT should be kept because he's

A) Cheap

B) Already 1 year into them investing into him

C) Allen and Stephenson are FAs, so we will be in this same exact boat in next years training camp, LDT will be two years into his development and will be cheap competition versus whatever they sign/draft as he has played tackle in college and guard in camp.*

*Provided we don't spend 20 million on a 45727 year old guard that some guy from England rates the best guard in football.

Morse is going to be damn good.

Probably a 7-10 year starter with some pro bowls mixed in.

The problem with Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is he's trying to play O-line with a wide receiver's name.

I was one of them.

It wasn't even about Morse, it was about all the other options available at the time.

I have been watching other teams preseason games off and on this weekend on NFLN.

A lot of teams OL look like total shit right now and a lot of teams are struggling to score from what I can see.

This looks about right. LDT really struggled on the right side, probably because he was thinking too much. IIRC, he's been a left guard during his entire tenure in KC and didn't look comfortable on the right side.

But unlike Fanaika, he doesn't suck.

He looked just fine last game against AZ.

Grubbs and Maclin will be the catalysts that make us serious contenders, and we weren't all that terrible last year.

Like I said in another thread, Fanaika played the worst game I've seen in a longgggg time. You have to try to be that awful.

According to PFF, the only players on your OL who graded out positively was Stephenson (+1.4) and Morse (+0.1). Tardif was by far your lowest graded player on the OL with a grade of (-4.7).

Considering the offensive line we've rolled out the last several years, that's bad.

Yeah, he didn't look good.

That signing was strange, but it was very similar to the Schwartz/McGlynn signings. Same exact guy from a past experience level, mobility and size perspective. (Drafted Fulton as well, who is also the same guy.)

Dorsey probably needs to re-evaluate his parameters he's feeding into the Decision Lens system on OG's.

PFF is a near useless tool.

I disagree. Is it 100% accurate? No. There are flaws in the way they grade and they don't know each players responsibility on every play.

But their grades are accurate enough. Relatively unknown guys like Chris Harris and Reshad Jones were getting high grades from PFF for two or three years, then when their contract was up they got big money. It kind of shows that the grades that NFL teams give their players are pretty close to the ones PFF give.

And what does that tell you about the state of the Chiefs O-line?

That it might be........average?

Kush is horrid not much of a leap to get over him.

Kush is horrid not much of a leap to get over him.

Which is why they didn't put Kush in a LG last year even with McGlynn sucking the life out of the entire offense. Not because they were saving him to be a 'pure center' but because he just isn't very good(at least yet)
